I was planning to buy a small, inexpensive replacement for my 20 year old, 2 rack Oster which finally bit the dust. After spending way too much time researching, it dawned upon me that since I use this every day, why not upgrade to bigger and better and so I did. This countertop oven is awesome. Wish I had done this long ago. Now for some details. The dimensions listed for the product are not accurate. I measured and found 13" D x 18.5" W x 10.5" H to be the actual size. Nonetheless, this product is ideal in so many ways and full of nice features. My old toaster oven had 2 rack positions and this one has 3 which is nice. When you open the door with the rack inside, the rack pops out with the rack guide which is very nice. It has a three plug outlet cord to run the 1800 watts and so far no issues with the kitchen circuit. The preheat time is fast and sweet. This model comes in a very nice blue and has 10 function controls, which is plenty. This Damson Blue Smart Oven is what I consider a mid range size in that it has three rack positions compared to many small toaster ovens which have two and the larger ovens have four. This unit is an upgrade in size from my older toaster oven and that is exactly what I wanted for the long haul. You can use parchment paper for most everything, which is so much better environmentally. Say goodbye to all the foil usage. While the manual does say to not line the crumb tray with foil, you can use foil to wrap your food if needed. A note about "Convection" and "Air Fryer" is also important since many brands now tout this in their marketing materials. In my research, what I learned is that these two terms simply mean, it has a fan. The fan is used to disperse heat evenly throughout the small chamber. This unit does come with a good sized air fryer basket but I have not tried it yet. The controls are very easy and simple to use and are of very good quality. Other than all of the features and size, I chose this model and brand based upon how high the Breville brand rates on most top ten lists.     • Replaced an older toaster oven...

I replaced an older Cuisinart toaster oven with this beast and I am very happy with the purchase. It does a great job heating up French fries and doing things like crisping Brussels sprouts. The blue color is also very stylish and fits in great in our kitchen. Note that even though this isn't the XL version, it's still chonky; make sure you measure your counter space to ensure there is adequate room. I have even baked bread in it with very good results. Pros: - Heats up very fast - Very even heat, makes great toast - Multiple shelf positions help getting good results. - Air fry basket is really convenient for multiple uses. - The "Super Convection" setting is very useful to get even cooking. - Lots of cooking modes/settings - Very well insulated, does not radiate a lot of heat. - Quiet, even with convection running Cons: - It's very big - Lots of accessories that you will need to find a place for - Toast "shade" controls aren't great at predicting toast results. ... show more

We just received ours a few days ago and finally tried it out last night and today. Frozen pizza was up first. The instruction manual is very thorough and well written with clear instructions. It's really easy to set the appropriate function, time and temperature, if not quite intuitive. I can see the learning curve will be very quick. The pizza was evenly baked, the crust was nice and crispy and the toppings were perfectly heated & melted - even with us having added extra toppings of our own. Today, we had to try frozen French fries with the airfry setting and the reheat function for our leftover pizza. Again, it was really easy, I love how the panel clearly shows preheat and how the alert sounds are different for both preheat alert and cooking timer. The fries didn't brown, but were perfectly crispy. The reheat function also worked beautifully. I could have set the time for slightly less time, but again, thenpizza was still crispy, without being overcooked and everything was uniformly reheated. I have some chicken thawing now so I can try air frying it for dinner. I can hardly wait to see how that turns out. We've been toaster oven users for years, we just prefer having the additional functionality and use it for so many things. Mainly cook fish at 450F and use a separate thermometer to monitor temperature and once getting to 450F in about 10 minutes it holds within about 20F during cooking. Cleaning it I have not tried yet, but looking in is not reassuring that it will go well or easily. Not planning to cook anything that will splash grease about. I'l cook other things in it, but haven't had the need yet, so do think it will be versatile, because it's large enough to hold a big pan. ... show more

Fits on my counter; use it for air frying, toasting, pizza, and baking. Takes a bit to figure out ideal length of time - trial and error; rule of thumb - begin by using 20 percent less time than what food packaging says as it's compact and runs hot - then check to see if it requires more time. First few attempts I overcooked pizza, fries, and a few other food products not utilizing this methodology. Dials are easy to use and time/temp can be changed quickly (when warm up beep sounds timer begins immediately, but can readjust time once food is inserted into oven). Sounds off when finished - a little loud. Overall, high quality metal product. Includes several handy trays - accessories for various cooking types. I also purchased a Breville cookbook containing various scrumptious recipes. Use a lot with safe silicone baking dishes and mats - although they're hot when removed from oven - utilize gloves or other protection. ... show more
