This semi-automatic replaced a Gaggia super-automatic. There is slightly more work between drinks using the knockbox, wiping out the filter basket, doing a quick flush of the shower head, and giving the shower head a quick wipe, but the quality of the espresso is significantly better. I was considering a machine with a double boiler, but I'm so glad I didn't get one of those. The jet heating system is ready to brew seconds after turning it on. I made an adjustment to the tamp fan to slightly reduce the size of the dose. You can find a lot of videos online on how to do this. Very easy and only took a minute or two. ... show more

This was an upgrade from an older Breville double boiler. Although the Oracle Jet is expensive, it is well worth it. You can make a variety of drinks automatically and quickly with the touchscreen. The Jet heats up in just a few seconds and can be finished brewing espresso within about a minute of turning it on. It has wifi so it will get updates from Breville. Best machine I have owned.     • Very Disappointed – Machine Failing and Smells Like Burning Rubber

I purchased the Breville Oracle Jet with high expectations, but unfortunately, the experience has been extremely disappointing. After investing in such an expensive machine, I expected durability and quality. Instead, only a short time into owning it, the machine has started to give off a strong burning rubber smell every time it’s in use. This isn’t just inconvenient — it’s a major safety concern. A premium coffee machine at this price point should never have issues that make me worry about fire hazards or toxic fumes in my kitchen. To make matters worse, the performance has dropped significantly, and the machine no longer works properly. For the cost of this machine, I feel completely let down. I trusted Breville’s reputation, but this product has not lived up to it at all. At this point, I cannot safely continue to use it. I cannot recommend this product to anyone. ... show more

This thing is amazing. Yes it makes great hot coffee but the iced is also out of this world. I honestly did not expect it to be this good. Already we are coffee at home people but I have no desire to get coffee anywhere outside. It is easy to use even for novices and my husband who is not always jazzed with multiple step machines. And has really worked very well. Paired with great fresh roasted beans (we love our Dean’s Beans) you can make lol the $7 coffees you want just as good as a coffee shop. This machine is an impressive piece of equipment that really makes quite a statement on your countertop. The stark contrast of black against the shiny chrome is a show-stopper. The features make it almost foolproof to make an amazing drink of your choice, so someone of any skill level can use it. It’s speedy and not terribly loud, compared to other espresso machines I’ve used in the past. My only true issue is with the bean hopper - there is no alert that your beans are running low. If you happen to run out when doing your grind, you don’t get a pause and alert that you’ve run out… instead, you get a partially filled portafilter that you can’t do anything with. Given all the bells and whistles this espresso machine has, I’m just really shocked that *this* particular feature isn’t one of them. ... show more

Makes excellent espresso drinks, my wife says it’s better than Starbucks. You have to pick the right beans to get the best results. Try for fresh recent roasts. Easy to use controls if something happens it explains what to do on the touchscreen with easy simple instructions.
