  • Breville Hand Mixer
Color: Red Velvet Cake Size: One Size
What can I say. Paying $130 for a hand mixer is absurd, but this little gem is worth every penny. I've had a number of cheap hand mixers over the years. The one I was using I just didn't like it so I decided to see what was getting good reviews and the Breville was the top one in every review. So I splurged. I have used it twice and the results were fantastic. It is slightly heavier than the cheaper ones but it has lots of buzzers and bells to make up for it. Despite the weight it is easy on the hand. All the buttons are within reach and easy to press and it purrs like a kitten. I love the timer feature that can be paused to add more ingredients. And the silicone-tipped beaters so they don't clank on the mixing bowl. And I keep forgetting about the mixer light! Storage is simple - everything (beaters, cord, etc.) fits neatly in the storage compartment. First time I used it, it was just a normal type recipe. Second time was ingredients that needed to be kneaded. Kind of a small job to use my stand mixer so I gave the dough hooks a try and it kneaded the batter perfectly. I don't think I would use it knead bread dough, but who knows, it might come in handy some day. Bottom line: it's worth the purchase and I suspect it will get used more often. ... show more

  • Excellent product!
Color: Royal Champagne Size: One Size
This is by far the best hand mixer I've ever used! The features are genius! It has three sets of beaters with a case. The controls allow any speed you like, beginning as slow as you like and easy to control. The beaters are easy to pop out with a pull up ring. It's beautiful and functional is all the best ways! ... show more

  • Exceptional Hand Mixer
Color: Red Velvet Cake Size: One Size
Terrific power, great coated beaters, the light showing on the preparation bowl is great, the speeds and boost are amazing, very quiet, beautiful red color, easy plug pull out, and will never buy any other brand again. This is my "go to" hand held mixer for good!!

  • Best hand mixer I’ve ever owned
Color: Damson Blue Size: One Size
I’m not much of a baker and always settled for inexpensive hand mixers. Until now. What a difference with the Breville! So many features-a strong, quiet motor with variable speeds that plows through thick batters. Rubber coated beaters that don’t ding the bowl and sort of scrape the sides as they mix. A timer so that when the recipe says “beat for 3 minutes” you know when to stop. It even has a light so you can keep an eye on your work. A nice selection of beaters that cover most recipes for home cooks. They thought of everything here. It may cost a little more, but it’s a pleasure to use. ... show more

  • Powerful
Color: Silver Size: One Size
This is the best mixer I have ever used. It’s comfortable in my hand, it’s powerful and it even has a light that shines into the bowl and a timer to see how long you’re beating the batter. I love it, even the plug is well thought out with a hole to put your finger in to unplug it. There is nothing I don’t like about it! ... show more

  • Worth every penny! Forget Kitchenaid
Color: Black Truffle Size: One Size
I never write a review on things I've just received, but I'm making an exception for the Breville hand mixer. The Breville is the #1 recommended hand mixer on the internet. But given its price, it wasn't my first choice. I'm 63 years old. I believe in buying the best that you can afford. You'll save money in the long run. For instance, my cookware is solid, multilayered, stainless steel. It'll last my lifetime. I apply this philosophy to everything, researching each purchase beforehand. But, the Breville at $150, seemed awfully expensive for a hand mixer. I've been through 3 Kitchenaid hand mixers. My first one lasted 20+ years. The second lasted 2 years, but was the classic 5 speed, so I bought the digital 9 speed, 5 years ago. It started vibrating an awful lot a year ago, and it finally through a beater out while I was making whipped cream, a bad sign. Kitchenaid has gone downhill since Whirlpool bought it. Determined to avoid Kitchenaid, I went to online, professional reviews. The vast majority graded Breville as #1. I had no doubt about the quality, since I own 2 other Breville appliances. But, the $150 price tag about made me gag. I made a huge mistake by buying a Hamilton Beach "professional" hand mixer. With a 1.3 amp DC motor, it should have been more powerful than the .8 amp Kitchenaid mixer. It wasn't. It not only was slower at the highest speed, I easily stopped the beaters by putting my hand on them while the mixer was on speed 1 (I can't do that with the Kitchenaid). It went back. Mixer #2 should have been a great mixer. I bought a Braun MultiMix. At 350 watts, it's the most powerful one of the bunch. It's made by Braun in Romania. I really liked it, that is until it threw one of the beaters into the bowl while I was mixing cake batter. It started vibrating badly, indicating it was out of balance. At first, I requested a replacement from Amazon, but changed my mind after thinking about it. The Brawn was almost $100. A Kitchenaid 9 speed is $110. I decided to pony up the money for the Breville. Just the heft of the box told me that the build must be very good. The Breville outweighs all of the other mixers. I'm disabled and I've just had rotator cuff surgery, but I had no problems handling the mixer. It's very balanced, with the weight being over the beaters. It's whisper quiet. The light is a welcome addition and lights up what's being mixed very nicely. The beaters fit nicely in the unit; they don't clank or hit each other, even at high speed. Pushing the speed wheel put it into turbo, which is speed 9. The up counting timer is a welcome feature for timed beating. You simply know that you're holding and using a quality appliance from the get-go. I made some old fashioned peanut butter fudge from my grandmother's recipe (the cooker kind). The secret to good fudge is in the beating at the end. Grandmother did it by hand. I use a hand mixer. Fudge turns heavy and stiff, so weak mixers won't work. The Breville didn't slow down or react at all. This is a minor test of the Breville. It's late today. Tomorrow I'm going to make real Bavarian soft pretzels. I usually make bread in my stand mixer, but I'm going to make it with the Breville and dough hooks. I'll update this review. So far, I don't regret spending the extra money OM this mixer, if it lasts as long as my other Breville appliances. ... show more

  • I love this mixer but......
Color: Red Velvet Cake Size: One Size
This mixer turned out to be much better than I had anticipated. I love the multi-speeds and the mixing power it has at lower speeds. The little light that shines into the bowl is also such a fun and useful addition. The pause button is also very handy as is the count-up timer on the handle. I thought I wouldn't like how digital it was but it hasn't bothered me at all. HOWEVER -- like many other people have mentioned the scraper beaters are not very durable at all. I use this mixer roughly once a week mostly to make cakes. I have had it now for just over 6 months and the scraper parts of the beater have torn and ripped apart. When I originally read the reviews of other people having problems with the beaters I thought it was because they were putting them through the dishwasher. I always hand washed my beaters and it still happened to me. I don't know how they could but this much thought and effort into this hand mixer and then give us sub-standard beaters. Is it still worth it even with the faulty beaters? Probably. Do I regret buying it. Not at all. But I am super annoyed that I have to buy another set of scraper beaters now and will probably have to do so every 6 months or so apparently. ... show more
