The lid and knob do get hot while it is full of tea. I didn’t buy the recommended filter. I used my August Uncommon one cup tea filter and it fit perfectly, so I don’t have to worry about opening up the pot to get the tea leaves out once it’s done steeping. Teapot says Holland but the box says MADE IN CHINA. YOU’LL NOT SEE THE WRITING CLEARLY BECAUSE SOMEBODY PUTS A NEW LABEL OVER THE WRITING BUT IT SHOWS THROUGH CLEARLY ENOUGH. Shame!
