When a replacement head was needed for my series 9 shaver I tried to save some money. I tried two different bargain replacement heads neither of which was worth the price of postage. The first head was sent back and the second head was thrown away. They pulled hair, overheated and in general gave a crappy shave. There is no substitute for German quality. A close comfortable shave every time. Money well spent.

My Series 9 is over 5 years old. I’ve replaced the cartridge once before with the identical kind it came with and a new one made a big difference after using the original for about two years. However, I greatly appreciate that Braun keeps these new carts interchangeable with older models because this new one is in another. The Series 9 is a great shaver because you can shave baby’s bottom smooth with no irritation (as long as you’re not shoving it into your face and doing super fast swipes) and after 5 years or so you can replace the battery for like $50 when it inevitable burns out like mine did and it’s like new. The build is also outstanding. Very durable. The big difference and great surprise with this newest version of the cartridge is with my neck. The hair on my neck grows in countless bazaar directions and regular blades make it impossible for me to go over it two days in a row without serious irritation and ingrown hairs. I dove deep into all the premium wet shave products and razors and could pull off a good close shave with little to no irritation but shaving two days in a row was still out of the question. The big improvement I notice with this cartridge is how it cuts short stubble, and that makes the biggest difference on my neck. With the other S9 carts I could get a bare smooth shave on my neck but it took a good 10/15 minutes and probably 50 passes. But this new one picks up everything in the coils and goes closer than the other carts with about 15 passes with way way way less pressure needing to be applied and without any irritation whatsoever. The others carts caused a tiny amount of irritation, not really any pain, but the two little problem patches on my neck would usually be red and noticeable but overall the shave was great. This latest cartridge is a grand slam. So happy it fits my older Series 9 which still looks brand new and works perfectly. And I like how this new one has a frosted metallic finish that doesn’t match the shiny chrome style of my S9 but makes for a cool contrasted look.

The original head had plastic housing and developed a crack after more than a year. I should confess that I dropped it on the ground couple of times. The replacement (this item) came in Braun packaging with made in Germany mark. It has a metal housing and I expect it not to develop a crack like the original one. It fits perfectly and shaves smoothly as I expected. I found a number of duplicate heads on Amazon and other sites for half the price. 4 star because this head is too expensive. On the plus side Amazon had early morning delivery in time for me.

I bought a knock off Braun 92s replacement head , big mistake ... cut my face up in a few spots it shaved so rough. The knock off head came in a Braun package & it looked like the real thing but the first time I used it I knew I messed up. I bought the real deal ... the Braun 92s head and I'm back to a smoooth close shave with no cuts. Tried many electric shavers & Braun is by far the best ... but you have to make sure you buy the Braun brand. This Braun 92s is just awesome

This is the replacement head you want for your Braun S9! I made the mistake of purchasing a "knockoff" that looked exactly like what I needed(left head) and was slightly less expensive. I also didn't try it out until after the return window closed, big mistake. The item attached to this review works excellently and is unquestionably a higher-quality product.
