I have found two things I don’t like. They have made a slight indentation to help you lift the lid to put in the coffee grounds and the water. It is poor and I usually end up using both hands to open the lid. I also don’t l8ke the mess getting rid of the grounds with the mesh filter. After dumping 8t out after use, you then have to reverse wash it to get out all of the grounds. Probably no different with and coffeemaker using a mesh filter. Everything else seems great. It brews very fast, about 10-15 minutes for the entire pot of 12 cups. The coffee is great and it is kept hot on the plate for hours.

This is a very dependable unit and makes great coffee. I usually get a couple of years' use out of a coffee maker before replacing it, and this is my third or so similar Braun unit. I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again. My only complaint with this particular model is that the clock is not backlit, making it difficult to read at any distance. This model takes cone style filters, which I prefer over the basket type.

This was a fantastic choice. Solid reputation with Braun, this one being one of the best I've used. Very nice appearance, works wonderfully with superb flavor, time to make it is quick, carafe temp hot but not burnt.

Let's get this out of the way: this unit does make a great cup of coffee. When it works. It has a critical design flaw. The plastic tab that retains the filter basket has broken off twice in the way depicted in a little over a year. I'm not replacing the basket a second time, the coffee maker is getting the heave-ho into the trash. Braun has also really fallen down on ease of use. 1. At this price point, I'd expect a backlight for the digital clock. As a result, the clock is very hard to read and program. 2. Water is measured by a stepped dipstick located inside the water chamber. The water level is very hard to see, particularly if the lighting in your kitchen is from a ceiling fixture that's behind you and your head obscures the light. I've taken to keeping a flashlight on my kitchen counter. 3. You have to peer directly down into the water chamber to gauge the water level. This may prove a problem for some shorter users if the unit is on a standard-height kitchen counter that's about 36"/1m off the floor. I'm 5'7"/170cm and I have to stand on tiptoe to look down into the water chamber. Really, Braun, would a sight glass or a clear plastic window have killed you? 4. The lid of the coffee maker gets in the way when you're trying to pour water into it, and tilting the carafe to pour water slowly makes it very likely that you'll spill water on the countertop. 5. Coffee maker has an annoyatron "clean" cycle that it demands far too often and runs for far too long, with no way to simply bypass the light. I'm revising my review and deducting a star. Braun has been known for industry-leading industrial design for decades. How did they get this so wrong? I'd been a happy user of Braun coffeemakers for decades, since the '80s. The only reason I didn't buy one the last time around, was that they didn't have one with the features I wanted at a price point I was willing to pay. (Mostly, I just want a simple on/off switch; a clock/programming is nice but not needed.) When that other-brand unit needed replacing I bought this Braun after reading positive online reviews. I am disappointed.

We purchased this Braun KF7070 coffee maker because our old Braun started leaking. After we unpacked it and read the setup instructions we thought we had it ready to run, not true. First you need to push the power button to be able to activate any of the program functions. Once we got the length of keep warm time set and the brew flavor set we thought we were done. Not true. We needed to first press the power button, then we needed to press the start brew timer, then we needed to press the keep warm button. All three lights needed to be lit so it would start at the correct time and stay warm for 4 hours as we had set it up for. Once we got this done.... wonderful coffee was made! The initial temp of the coffee was very hot at 185*. After being used the coffee temp after about 2 hours still was kept very hot at 175* until it turned off. So once we got it programed correctly it was the best coffee pot maker we have ever had in over 30 years! Because the Braun KF7070 brews coffee so well we are now using less coffee than we used in our previous Braun coffee maker and it makes a very strong brew even set at the lower brew setting. The cost at Amazon was $89.99 but well worth the money. We rate this Braun KF7070 a 5 out of 5 for quality and making a great cup of coffee.
