So the Braun model 5 and 7 are the top of the line, so you make no mistake there, the 3 line is good but takes 10 hours to charges and last very little, but they really took the customer feedback and created an amazing product with the 5 and 7, they are sturdy, powerful, easy to charge, easy to store, you will only need this one, you can wash it, very lightweight, I actually bought it to cut my kids hair, and its amazing, not loud, very friendly with their little heads. does not heat up, and blades safe to skin. easy to do the fades with the half-millimiter increments. and 2 different combs. I haven't used the trimmer I dont see much use to it, but its nice to have it extra, very sharp bladesUPDATE: I cut my medium length black and thick hair and it is very powerful, cuts right on the first pass.

Great beard trimmer that can be used for haircuts and body hair as well. I also found great value in the detail trimmer attachment, as it is very precise and is easier to use than the pop-out trimmer on my Braun Series 8 electric shaver. Don't listen to the complaints about shaving cream on the device; it appears to be a white grease that is applied at the factory to help with lubrication of the internal parts and included attachments. I would also ignore the concerns about accidentally turning the dial while shaving; while this is technically possible, it really shouldn't happen if you are holding the device properly. I haven't had the misfortune of the guard slipping down while shaving either, but I suppose it's possible; I will report back if this starts happening with mine. The only reason why I am docking one star is because the short guard that is used for beard trimming has slightly sharp tips that are uncomfortable when pressed firmly against the face and moved around. The longer haircut guard has nice smooth tips, similar to beard trimmers from other manufacturers that I have owned in the past. I'm not sure why they didn't just use that design on both guards. Other than this one flaw, this item is perfect so far. I love the long battery life, the easy adjust dial, and the solid build quality. Buy this one; you won't be disappointed.

Okay. I own like 30 trimmers. They are mostly flawed. One was so bad I had to shave my face for the first time in like 15 years. Even expensive ones are often poorly designed and awkward to use. The one I've been using for the last couple of years is a good quality trimmer but I needed to put an addition on my home to store the roughly 397 attachments that came with it and were required for it's use. I've been shopping for a replacement that had an adjustable cutting guide but found most contenders to be outrageously overpriced. Honestly if I going to spend close to a hundred bucks on a trimmer I might as well pay a barber to do it. I finally found this gem quietly waiting for me on Amazon. It is everything I've been looking for and nothing that I haven't. Works great on my beard as well as more...erm...delicate areas. It's nice that they throw in a free Gilette razor. I have no use for it (I go electric) but I have a friend who was happy to have it. My experience with the brand has been positive in the past. I think I've found my a trimmer that's just right.

Had another battery powered razor, but you had to switch the guards out. And it didn’t even have all the sizes I needed. This trimmer is much better. Much easier to have the control just on the dial of the trimmer.

I recently replaced my Norelco beard trimmer, which was terrible. This Braun is fantastic. Great battery like and multiple razor heads, with a small razor head that easily trims ear and nose hair. Build quality is superb, as are the different razor heads.
