My husband recently had surgery for multiple hernias. Unfortunately, this isn't his first surgery for this issue, and we've been told that once you've had one hernia, you're often more prone to developing others. Because of that history, we decided to add this BraceUP Umbilical Hernia Belt to our supply kit. The belt wraps around the abdomen with a wide Velcro closure and provides a good level of support. I would describe it as lighter support than a typical back brace, but appropriate for what it's designed to do. It feels supportive without being overly rigid or restrictive. One feature I particularly like is the removable round pressure pad. Adding the pad allows you to apply more focused support to the hernia area, which seems like a very smart design choice and gives the brace more versatility depending on the situation. The brace is easy to put on and adjust, and it seems comfortable enough for extended wear when needed. Hopefully we won't need it often, but it gives us some peace of mind to have it available. BraceUp is a brand I've used multiple times now and have come to love and trust so when I found this umbilical hernia belt by this brand I was very happy. The brace works very simply, it is a wide band that you wrap around your mid section and there is a little circular firm disk that you place at your hernia site on the inside (the disk sticks by velcro) and then you velcro the belt together. The velcro holds strong and doesn't accidentally come lose until you are ready to take it off. The belt itself has some nice stretch to it and is a great wide width. While it does feel firm, this is what you want to give support. I am not currently using this for a hernia so I took out the inside disk but I am still wearing the belt while doing laundry or other tasks that I bend and move a lot at to give my back a little extra support. This belt also works well for that. The size chart is accurate and the black neutral color means that either a man or a woman could use this hernia belt which is a huge plus. Overall I'm really happy with this and feel it's a very good value for the price.

I am impressed with the quality of this BraceUP umbilical hernia belt for men and women. I ordered a size L/XL, even though in pants I wear a size M. I am glad I got the L/XL because it actually fits just right. I would rather have the belt be a little larger than need than too small. The velcro piece is able to attach anywhere on the belt, so you can pull it tighter if need be, if it is too large on you. The belt comes with a little hernia support pad that you can remove if you don't need it. It is just this very firm foam piece that is velcroed to the inside of the belt, in case you want to push that hernia in a little, or feel like you have a little more support in that area. The whole belt is strong elastic that feels very good, and comforting on my body. It is breathable, and you can hand wash it if necessary. A great belt for support when you need it! Highly recommend!
