  • 2010 Jaguar XK (Samsung Galaxy s20/S9) works like a charm
Recent bought a 2010 Jaguar XK and was surprised that it's bluetooth was only for Phone connection, no audio. I searched, found the Bovee and gave it a try. It worked great. With the car started select IPOD as the SOURCE on your car radio. Now just plug the BOVEE into the Iphone/Ipod port in your center console (the 30 pin connection port), while your car is still running, you'll see a flashing blue light on the BOVEE. Turn on your phones Bluetooth scan function and select BOVEE to pair with. In a few seconds you'll see that your phone has PAIRED with the BOVEE. Your done, it's that easy. I used this with both a Samsung galaxy S20 and galaxy s9 without issues. Notes: You have to have IPOD selected as the SOURCE on your car stereo. You control the play/pause with the steering wheel controls or the radios play/pause buttons also radio volume(if you try to play or pause on the phone it will only do so for a second or two then start playing or go back to pause, just use the cars radio controls) You can select whatever APP you want on your phone and the audio from that APP will play thru your car radio (Amazon Music, Youtube, Audible, etc...) It will reconnect and start playing when you return to your vehicle. The Bovee only works with audio not phone calls but you can connect your phone to JAGUAR for phone calls so you still have hands free phone calls and the music will mute when you get a phone call. This last feature maybe a new Android thing but I'm not sure, it maybe Bovee. My wife had her Galaxy s20 connected to the Bovee audio and to the JAGUAR for phone. I wanted to play an Audible book thru the car stereo, so I scanned my bluetooth for devices in my area. It saw the Bovee but it also showed an option to CONNECT TO BOVEE thru my wifes Galaxy s20. I picked that option and started my audible app and it worked, plus my wife's phone stayed connected to the Bovee too. It let me "share" her audio connection to the Bovee. Very Handy feature when you have two (or more?) people with phones in the car and your don't want to disconnect the main phone. The BOVEE is a little expensive but it lets you add a bluetooth audio connection to your vehicle in a way that lets you use feature of your vehicle seamlessly (play/pause volume track skip on both radio and steering wheel). Pricey both worth it. ... show more

  • Works well once set up properly
Ultimately a great device. I have a 2012 Range Rover. The 2012 Rover only supports Bluetooth for the phone; not audio. So, the BOVEE device is set up as a second Bluetooth connection on my phone. I have an Android Pixel 5. Initially, the connection kept disconnecting every 15 minutes, literally within a few seconds of 15 minutes every time. Some kind of timeout? The Land Rover Bluetooth, which hosts the phone connection kept alternating between Bluetooth and handheld every few seconds when both devices (BOVEE and Land Rover Phone) were concurrently connected. It was a mess. When I contacted support, I received a generic troubleshooting sheet that didn't address my issue. I was about to return it when I noticed on my Pixel5 under Settings that I could turn off or disable Phone Calls and Contact Sharing for BOVEE, both of which are handled by my Land Rover connection, not the BOVEE. Once I did that, it started working nearly perfectly. The only (very minor) glitch is that when I pause music in Spotify on my phone, it starts right up again. I have to pause it on my head unit screen. But overall a very minor issue for an otherwise stellar post-OEM solution. ... show more

  • This thing is a miracle!!!!
We recently bought a 2011 LR4. When we bought it, I was aware it had Bluetooth but hadn't considered that it was old school and only worked for calls. I am a Spotify, Audible, etc. addict and that was not going to do. I did the research and found the Bovee 1000. I watched a video and it seemed simple to install and connect. It was actually beyond simple and now works like a charm! My only caveat is to make sure you are buying for your vehicle year and model and if you don't have the factory iPod connection cord, make sure to order the Bovee 1000 that includes the cord. (I didn't have the cord and chose the wrong one originally) ... show more

  • Not Worth $85
I purchased this item back in May of this year. At first, it worked exactly how it was supposed to. Then!! After it was too late to send it back, it began to cut out. But after some trouble shooting, I was able to get it to work again. TODAY!! As I was trouble shooting yet again, the Bovee device stopped working on the left side of my car, (and yes, I made sure the speakers still worked with regular radio and CDs. They did.) and then fell apart. Physically pulled apart. Now, I've done my research on these types of devices and didn't mind the $85 price tag. I'd rather pay more for quality, but in this case,I'm extremely disappointed. I had connectivity issues a couple of months ago and now a dead device just five months after buying it. What a major let down!! ... show more

  • Still works
Bought in 2018 when I bought my 2011 LR4. It's now April 2024 and it still works flawlessly. The only "downside" is the aggressive Bluetooth connection. As soon as a door opens on the truck, this thing is connecting to your phone, regardless of if the truck is actually started
