Just received this jacket today. Wow, what a jacket ! It is very well made and will be nice and warm. The major thing it fits. I am 6’4” 250. Normally I wear a 2X Tall. I ordered a 3X Tall, to be able to wear a heavy flannel shirt underneath. There will be no problem. I had originally ordered a perma loft jacket same size from LL Bean and had to return it. Even with just a T-shirt underneath the zipper barely closed and forget about being able to move my arms, very tight. This jacket is true to size and $100 cheaper. The construction is very good, detachable hood, storm cuffs, wind/rain resistant and very soft lining inside. If you’re a size like me and not some skinny male model, don’t be afraid about ordering it. It looks very good when worn. It will keep you warm without being bulky. Excellent job Amazon/Boulder Creek.

This is an EXCELLENT winter coat, able to withstand our Minnesota winters --which can sometimes feel like living on the moon for 5 months--and keep me toasty warm. The fleece lining makes all the difference. This is the second Boulder Creek coat I have owned. After 6 years the first one was starting to look a bit ratty, so I got another one.. I am 5' 11", 240 lbs, so I got the 2X extra large (Big 2XL, not the tall 2XL), and it fits perfectly. The sleeves come down to about halfway between my wrist and knuckles, just the way I like it, and leaves enough room for layers underneath if I so choose without being too tight. It comes down to about mid-thigh or so, a nice coat length. It has plenty of pockets, including that invaluable inside breast pocket, and is much warmer than you might expect from a parka this lightweight. Being soft and lightweight, it doesn't constrict your movement much either. It has kept me warmer than ANY coat I have ever owned, ALL winter long. No piercing winds get through, none of those late-night or early morning frigid temps get to me while waiting for the car to warm-up, it will seal you up from the bitterness nice and cozy. and although I do not think it is waterproof, I have never once in 6 years gotten wet inside it. In the dead of winter, when I combine this coat with a couple cotton layers underneath (a long t-shirt and a light sweater) with my Sorel's, a scarf, good gloves and a rabbit fur trappers hat, there were times that I found myself even getting a bit warm, even in night time, subzero temps. It is a soft, light, cozy-warm parka. It looks great, feels even better, and the price is right. don't hesitate, it's a great coat.

First of all, the jacket arrived neatly packaged and NOT "wrinkled beyond belief" as one reviewer stated. The material feels nice, and I love the jacket's attractive navy blue color. The 2XL jacket (my regular size) fit me very comfortably with the heavy fleece Columbia sweater jacket I was wearing. I seldom wear a hood but like the fact that it attaches with a zipper rather than with snaps. The four outer flap packets are large and snap shut. The hand warmer pockets are roomy but lack a fleece lining for warmth. The poorly designed upper zipper pocket is too narrow and shallow to hold anything but a ballpoint pen or maybe a Swiss Army knife. I would not trust it to hold my sunglasses without scratching. There is one deep inside chest pocket on the left side--NOT "inside pockets" as stated in the Details. It would be fine for carrying a cellphone and/or a checkbook. The jacket has large plastic zippers that zip easily. MY BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT IS THAT THE JACKET DOES NOT HAVE A TWO-WAY ZIPPER AS STATED IN THE DETAILS. FALSE ADVERTISING! Overall, I think the jacket would keep me warm in all but the coldest weather and is a good value for the price. However, before I decide whether to keep the jacket or return it, I need to see how the jacket fits while sitting behind the wheel of my car. I'm worried that there will be too much strain on the bottom of the zipper without having a two-way zipper that could be opened a little on the bottom.

Admittedly, I'm buying a 4X coat so I don't expect much from the the fit. Wrong! Looks great and fits great. My husband asked that I not buy a "puffer jacket" so I had a lot of discretion. So glad I bought this coat! It looks great, fits great and if I say so myself, it doesn't make him look larger than a 2X. I'd buy this coat over & over again if necessary. Perfect and thanks for the fast delivery!

I am 6' 4", 220 lbs. Reviewing size Large Tall I originally ordered the XL Tall based on their recommendations, but it fit like a sack. Returned it for a size Large Tall but was sent a 5X Tall. Returned it and finally got the Large Tall. It is still very roomy. The jacket does a good job of blocking the wind, is light, and there is plenty of room to layer a flannel shirt and heavy sweater under it. In fact, the jacket is much larger through the body than a normal size large. The length is perfect. Wore it today for a walk along a Lake Erie beach in 29°F temp with 25-30 MPH winds. I was comfortable, but if was much colder, this may not do the job. The hood is small and the straps will not fasten under my chin. (incorrect hood attached?) Good thing the hood is removable, but disappointing that I can't use it. The collar can not be zipped all the way up when wearing the jacket unless you have no chin or a very long neck. A lot of loose threads to cut off. I'm hoping it doesn't end up looking like another reviewer's jacket. Good price, hope it's a good value. I'm keeping it.
