    • Simple to use crimper tool!
Shopped around and felt very comfortable buying these for a solar panel wiring job I wanted to complete. Does a really nice job and rachets until crimp is complete. Only draw back to this is once you start your crimp, you better be on the right crimp size because you won't be able to release the wire/crimp until fully clamped down. So, just take your time and pay attention to detail if you don't want to waste crimps and time. I would definitely buy these again. Easy on your hands too! ... show more

    • These make a nice crimp
The wire crimps that these crimpers make are very solid and tight. I would recommend them to people building solar systems, sound systems etc. Very easy to use but you have to have a pretty strong grip to get a solid connection.

    • Reasonable for the price but not for solid MC4 pin connectors
This crimping tool got a lot of rave reviews so I decided to take a chance on it for crimping MC4 solar panel connectors. if you are using the cheap, stamped metal, 20 Amp MC4 connectors it would probably work fine. If you are using the much beefier solid 30A MC4 connectors that are lathe turned solid rod stock then this tool will not work well. I was using the latter and was barely able to get the crimper to close down on them. In fact I had to use a ratcheting woodworking clamp to clamp the handles of the crimper closed in order to generate enough force to make the crimp. And I am an avid rock climber and have a very strong grip. I managed to make the half dozen crimps that I needed but it was slow, painful and sketchy as the tool was obviously straining. In the end the connections are effectively bomb proof but I imagine that this tool will not make many of these before it finally fails. If you are using light duty MC4 connectors this should work fine and I would recommend it especially for the price. If you are using the heavier duty MC4 connectors find a different crimper that has a stronger design and more mechanical advantage and you will be much happier. ... show more

I have NO prior experience with MC4 cables and after a minute I could figure this out. I found others for much higher price but don't know why you would pay more. This is a well known brand and it works. They will sit stored until I need them again (getting more panels) but why get overly fancy for something you won't use but a few times a year if then. If you are a professional installer get the fancy ones, but for me this did the job. ... show more
