Features

  • Universal Fitment: U.S. Patented. This car door step could sit flat on your car's front door/ rear door or any other vehicle door frames by adjusting the sliding nut and the rotating rubber pad. It's solidly in place in either position and more versatile for your needs. The rubber bumper is a nice protection feature for the car finish.
  • Strong Stability: This sturdy car step is molded as a one-piece design so it barely wobbles when you stand on it. The large rubber padding on the end makes a bigger contact between the step and the door jam, adding further stability to the step. Rubber boot around the hook will enhance the adhesion with the door latch.
  • Easy Storage: With medium size-8.66*3.39*3.15 inch/ 2.09lb, you could store it in your glove box/ spare tire compartment or under your seat when not in use. This little thing can be carried around anywhere and put on in a minute. It could work as an instant ladder and is very portable for all your road trips. Equipped with a flannel storage bag, it won't scratch your vehicle interior.
  • Great Security: This car rooftop doorstep is made of solid aluminum holding up to 450lbs weight. With ample space for both feet to step on, you will feel perfectly safe on the step accessing items across your car roof. It takes less than 1 minute to install fits onto the door frame and latch very easily.
  • Popular Use: This rooftop doorstep is a patented vehicle accessory. You could step on it to install your roof rack/ cargo box/ ski rack/ kayak or wash your car roof and so on. Packed in an exquisite box, it's also an ideal gift for your friends or family who own an SUV or truck!

  • Good, sturdy, and quick to install.
I ordered this kayak holder to match up with the BougeRV cross bars on my Honda 2021 Pilot. The kayak holders were packed in a sturdy box and the two holders were enclosed in a thick plastic bag. A third bag held four straps for securing the kayaks to the holders. The base of the holders is made from a thick gauge aluminum and feel sturdy. There are no loose parts to assemble. Two plastic coated metal plates are used to hold the kayak holder to the cross piece. Positioning these plates under the cross piece and tightening the nuts to hold the kayak holders took about five minutes for both holders. The upright is made of steel and is also thick and sturdy. It is covered with a thick foam padding and also has a holder for a paddle. It is adjustable from a lowered position to an upright position. A large adjustment nut is loosened so that it can be lowered and raised. The teeth of the adjustable arm are very deeply cut and won’t slip once tightened The lower saddle where the kayaks rest is a solid plastic with rubber runners. These prevent the kayak from sliding around and getting scuffed up. The saddle rests on an aluminum arm and is adjustable from one side to the other to adjust for different size kayaks. Once the kayak is in position a web belt is looped through the upper arm and around the roof cross members. The buckle has a thick paint coating and under the buckle is a foam/cloth protection pad to help prevent the car paint from getting scratched. The strap did not slip after I put tension on the strap to hold the kayak in place. The teeth of the clamp are very aggressive and hold the strap securely. I loaded two kayaks, one a 9.5 foot and the second an 11.5 foot. Both seemed to be held securely in place and did not move when we took a 25 minute ride to the beach. While loading on the Pilot was a bit of a challenge my friends lower Forester was easy enough for one of us to load. ... show more

  • 2 vs 1 Kayak
We used this rack to transport a 16ft Kayak about 300 miles on a highway and it worked really well! The rack attached to a Toyota mini-van with a roof rack easily and held the Kayak tight. We used ratchet straps instead of the straps that were provided; the straps and buckles provided (4) may be totally fine but we trusted the heavier duty ratchet straps we already had more. For transporting 2 Kayaks, I'm not sure I'd trust this for a highway trip - but that may be more a factor of the larger size of our Kayaks and being newbs strapping two in. Attaching 2 we could not quite get them to be right and stable. The Kayaks kept rolling sideways. The rack was totally fine for shorter, lower speed transport of 2 boats - just be careful how to strap them in and be sure they are secure. I would recommend this rack; just be sure you know how to use it correctly if you try to put 2 boats on it. ... show more

  • So it's not a Thule grade rack... but it's doesn't cost Thule money
So I bought this for my mother's new Jeep Compass with aftermarket cross bars. The bolts are a bit long, and I'll either have to shorten them or replace them with something shorter before use. Other than that no complaint. I also have to see if these will fit the monster sized cross bars on my Thule Xporter on my Ram. Because I can fit two of these width wise on there. And either use them as flat cradles for two kayaks, or raise the center bars for 4 carried vertical. ... show more

  • Finally, no more sand in my trunk!
I've purchased other products from BougeRV and I'm impressed every time, this is definitely no exception. Now I'm even more excited to take my kayak out because I don't have to clean up a bunch of sand from my cargo area and deal with the incessant beeping (because I couldn't close the hatch) like I used to when it rode in my trunk. The only extra thing I will need to bring along now is a step stool to make loading and securing my kayak to this rack easier. When they say installation takes 10 minutes or less, they mean it. The only tool you may need like I mentioned before is a step stool to make reaching your rails easier. The racks come fully assembled so all you have to do is attach two small brackets and four hand tightened nuts to each and boom you're done. I'm very happy with the build quality. The gray rubber pads are super grippy and hold my kayak firmly. The kayak doesn't slide when it's up against those, and definitely doesn't move when I strap it down. I plan to leave these on through the summer, and I will be using my kayak a lot now that I have these racks, so I will post an updated review once I see how it performs over time out in the sun and in the weather. Until then, a solid 5/5 from me! ... show more

  • Very good mount, no clearance
The bolt is too long for my horizontal bar on my 2013 Highlander (which has only 1 inch clearance). The handscrew caps are also too tall. I ended up sawing off 0.75inch and bought 8 M6 winged nuts to secure it in place. Hope this helps.

  • OMG, this works for Lifetime sit-on-tops
I have 2 Lifetime Tahoma kayaks to transport on the roof of my Subaru. Initially, I purchased typical, highly recommended, J-style carriers. They slipped on the aero roof rails and the kayaks slipped within the J hooks. This carrier is different insofar as the wider, wing-shaped kayak holders have rubberized strips which hold the kayak right in the position you put it in, it doesn't slide to the side. I can easily load both kayaks sitting perfectly vertical bottom against bottom. The straps are nice quality, but too short for Lifetimes, which are fairly wide. I bought two sets of straps for $10, not a big deal. Since I go on the Highway, I do use bow and stern lines, paracord is perfect. I am sure J style are good carriers, but if you have problems with your wider, flatter boat sitting securely, give this model a shot! ... show more

  • Meh
The first ones I bought were a good price. They lasted less than a year on the roof before deteriorating and the plastic ripped apart. If I didn’t have the broken ones to trade out I wouldn’t buy them at the new price.
