I love this unit, I have no complaints at all, ok well maybe one lol. I wish it had a volume and next button on the unit itself. I have it on a 750 king quad 4x4 and we have seen some mud. I always have them playing while I ride. They seem to be really good with water, I wash them just like I wash my quad and they haven’t failed me yet. I custom built a stand for my Polaris 800 Sportsman in order to mount this on. Most of my friends put the speaker on the rack in front of them on their 4-wheelers. I put mine behind me. Doesn't block your view and you can hear the music very well. This thing is built pretty strong and water-proof. Had to have that because we do get into water a lot. I got the Bluetooth compatible unit so I could use my phone to listen to the music . I would recommend the unit itself to anyone wanting to enjoy your music while riding. You just have to use your own imagination on how you want to mount it though. UPDATE !! >>>>05/31/2014>>>>> Just to let anyone know that's thinking of getting one of these ?? It's getting into full riding season again here and all is still going well with my BOSS BLUETOOTH AUDIO SYSTEM ! I have personally added a lot of features on my bike to accommodate my music. It's just a big part of a good ride for me. Wish you could add pic's besides video and I could give some of you guys some suggestions on mounting these things. I've had a lot of inquires about the one I made for mine. A little time consuming, but well worth the effort. I've also added a lot of electronic hook-ups on mine to accommodate different devices. I can listen to either my Go-list on my phone.......MP3.....or my XM Radio !!! All via bluetooth !!......I love it. I've read a lot of reviews on here about these speakers. I know....I know... you get a lemon from time to time with everything, but as for my personal experience with BOSS ??.....I had a control pad on mine to go bad. I just e-mailed them and explained what was going on and it wasn't very long someone got back with me and said if I could send them the "Proof of Purchase", they would fix me up. So...I emailed them a copy of it and low and behold....they sent me a brand new controller !!! As far as I'm concerned ????...I appreciate that and will do business with them again. Yes, the speakers have a "ONE YEAR WARRANTY"....and I believe as long as it's in that period, they will make good on what they claim. These things still sound as good as the day I installed them too. OH btw........there is this lil' device called "BlueSENSE TRM"....they have them on AMAZON. If you have these "BLUETOOTH" speakers....and your MP3 or other device isn't bluetooth compatible ???....well, you get this lil' device and it will be. Only costs about $ 30.00. No bigger than an MP3 player and works great. You have to have bluetooth speakers in order for it to work though. Worked out perfect for me. This way I can listen to my MP3 or my XM Radio while ridin' my 4-wheeler. Check it out !!! Just wanted to let you guys know......... ... show more

    • sound is... barely passable
I previously owned a cheaper retail version of these but it was destroyed when someone rear-ended me so I bought these as a replacement and it's a huge step down. I was motivated to tweak them but they're still a big disappointment first off - I'm not sure why there's no high pass filter. these will try to reproduce very low frequency sounds and they sound incredibly bad. however, any time I'm using budget audio equipment I use an EQ app on my phone and killed everything 60hz and below. the biggest problem is that there are still big problems with resonance that didn't happen with the Walmart model. huge frequency ranges sound very flat and wooden even at moderate volume. I'm curious if there's any battening inside, but it just sounds like the box is the wrong size for the speakers highs and mids are near garbled with more complex music. the LEDs also began to fail and now they're asymmetric - some colors/section work on one side but not the other. Bluetooth doesn't show up in pairing - I don't really use it for Bluetooth but I was surprised to discover that it wasn't operational. the only reason that it's two stars instead of one is because I really like the sturdy minimalist design, it fits perfectly on my custom vehicle and I appreciate that it has an audio jack rather than a hardwired cord. the volume is pretty good but definitely can feel blown out at max volume. I used my EQ app to dial down the preamp so that I can max the volume on my phone, but the EQ dials it back a little to keep it from squeezing the life out of the speakers. frankly - I will probably gut these and install my own audio hardware, I already have to repair the LEDs. bottom line: if you're motivated to tweak them or run an EQ app on your phone, you can make playlists that has tracks that sound good. if you expect it to sound good and loud for all your music, you'll be disappointed. if you want to blast music while riding a gas powered vehicle, you'll probably be bummed. if you want a simple mobile stereo that's structurally sturdy and don't mind doing a little work or playing at a more reasonable volume, this could be a situationally good option. imo, Boss really dropped the ball on making an incredibly simple system that was only supposed to have one job. ... show more

I purchased this for my ATV. I strapped it on when I received it and took it for a spin. It’s loud, I can hear it when I’m riding and its tremendously loud when the ATV is sitting still. The flashing lights and options are very neat and other riders love to see them at night! I have no regrets so far. I don’t do mud and deep waters too often so I don’t know about waterproof just yet! ... show more

Bought it for tractor. But wouldn’t connect on android or iPhone. Instead of shipping back I just spent a few dollars on a Bluetooth aux receiver and it works just fine. That was only hang up. Works and sounds really good.
