I used these speakers to replace the 30+ year old 4x6 inch factory speakers in my 1992 VW Cabriolet. What a massive improvement. They were an easy install and the sound is so much better. I am really happy with my purchase and wish I would have done this sooner.

I chose these speakers because of the price. For me the reviews are mostly correct, these speakers lack low end(bass), that said, i was not looking for low end as i have 2 additional speakers with low end capability. I was simply looking to replace my older damaged set of speakers which these fulfill. They are still not the best you can get, but they fill a need. I would recommend these to all. ... show more

I really can't find a reason to give it any less than 5 stars. I purchased a pair of these, plus a pair of 6x9's to replace the ones in my 1989 Trans Am. These fit very well in the front section underneath the dash where the factory ones were, and went in without a problem. I used the ends of the wires provided in the package to connect the speaker to the factory wiring harness. Room for improvement: the provided wires could have used finished plugs on BOTH ends. Would have made life a little bit easier, but it isn't reason enough to dock one star. I used the factory screws to mount them, no issues there. They took up the same amount of space under the dash as the factory 4x6's. They fit flush. Performance-wise, I'm satisfied. These, combined with 6x9's in the rear behind my head, make for a very full sound with ADEQUATE bass. I played some classic rock and some EDM, and overall it handled very well. I cranked the volume to the maximum my ears could tolerate, and I heard no crackling, popping or distortion of any kind. A subwoofer is needed in order to complete the system, but the sound system as it is now, is totally acceptable. BOSS audio makes a great speaker for the price. I wouldn't change a thing about it. It's a nice, full sound with plenty of tolerance for abuse. If you're on a budget and need speakers to replace your "full-range" speakers, these are for you. ... show more

For the price I can say these get the job done. Installed into my 2005 Chevy Malibu Classic, easy installation, fit perfectly. The sound is okay, highs are a bit squeaky, but for the price it is better than NOT having speakers (original factory speakers blew out). Overall a good product. Will see if they blow out in the coming days, weeks, or months. Hopefully I can keep them going for 6 months at least. ... show more

I bought these speakers as a cheap replacement for the stock speakers in my 1994 Chevrolet C1500 Silverado. The original speakers that were in the front quit working and only crackled and popped. The speakers were a perfect fit and I was able to put the original cover over them. I did not have to use any of the mounting hardware that came with the speakers because I used the original screws. The speaker wires are adequate, but I might suggest using a heavier gauge wire if you are not going to use the factory (car) speaker wires. The sound quality is better than I expected after installing them my pup (Isabella Danger Barkalini) and I took a ride and listened to some tunes. We were both pleased. They start to get a little distorted when the volume is turned all the way up, but my wife says I can't listen to music that loud anyway. I would recommend these speakers to anyone that doesn't want to break the bank and wants original sound system quality. ... show more

After initial instal, sound quality was great for about a week. Then, static started and shortly after 3 or my 4 new boss speakers went out entirely. After diagnosing the issue, it was doing the tinsel wire within the actual speakers was poorly manufactured and caused failure. Went with kickers and have been pleased since getting rid of these. Thought these would be a good way of saving money, ended up costing me more in the long run. Do not recommend. ... show more

I replaced all of my speakers in my 2001 Chevy Silverado and they were exact replacement size speaker size for the ones that I removed. You can order the frames that they fit in to also fit exactly into the Silverado truck. I just drilled 4 holes per speaker and used self tapping screws. It worked just great for me. The sound was fantastic compared to the only remaining factory speaker that was working when I replaced. Thanks for a great product for such a great price. ... show more
