Over the last 10 days I have used my new Bose SoundLink Flex II speaker everyday and I’m currently working my way through is sixth charge. Overall, I am extremely happy with the speaker and nearly every aspect. Right out of the box the speaker feels premium with a nice hard plastic exterior that is soft and pleasant to the touch. It also comes with a fabric strap, big enough to fit one or two fingers through that I have yet to use, but would be very convenient if you were going to strap it on a backpack or hang it somewhere. The sound quality is phenomenal at all volume levels and at the highest level for an extended period there was no weird, buzzing or vibrating like I had with other speakers, the battery life and charging our wonderful charging is quick and easy with micro USB and the battery life although I have not quite gotten it to last the advertise 12 hours last a very long time and at max volume has lasted above three hours which I personally feel is phenomenal, considering how loud max volume is. Bluetooth pairing was exceptionally easy and all of the touch button controls on top work well and feel nice in a tactile manner. Although I have not tested the waterproof ability, it is a very nice piece of mine to know that if I am in the rain or the speaker happens to get wet, my purchase will not be damaged. The only complaint I have about the speaker which honestly isn’t really that much of a complaint is the pleasant to touch outside plastic material does seem to do a good job of attracting pet hair if you have animals, but can easily be wiped off and does not affect performance in anyway. Overall am extremely satisfied and strongly consider, considering purchasing a second or third to pair together. ... show more

I use bluetooth speakers often for outdoor activities, beach time, bike riding, hiking, anything that is better with music! My first impression of the Bose Soundlink Speaker is the sleek design, it has a modern look with the buttons inline with the case. My first test was to get my current Bluetooth speaker and run a comparison, playing the same song on each. I immediately noticed that not only is the Bose speaker louder, but it has a cleaner sound, with the bass coming through much stronger. It provides a sound that matches a powered speaker, which I find impressive for such a small battery powered speaker. It was really easy to sync up, just push the bluetooth button and it showed right up on my phone. The controls are intuitive if you've ever used these types of speakers, and I like the USB C charger since I always have several of those around. I haven't tried the microphone as I don't typically take calls with a speaker, but it could be nice if someone calls while you are using the speaker and don't want to grab the phone. You can also feel the durability of the speaker, I have no doubt this will hold up well when dropped, and the waterproof case is important as I will occasionally take speakers out on the canoe or paddle board. Initially I was skeptical of the body design, but it's actually pretty functional. The sound output adjusts to whether it is upright or laying flat. There are grippy feet subtly molded into the body in either position. Interface is clean and simple. I like the upgrade from the 1st gen model, now that the app has an EQ and also saves all the devices it is paired with. I have my phone, laptop, and PS5 (with a 3rd party usb bt dongle) set up with it, and it has a "first in, last out" logic if I'm bouncing between any of the three devices. Love it. Audio quality is clean. Bass is there and at the ideal levels. Doesn't muddy up the sound. Mids and highs are clear without any clipping. Mobility and pricing is also spot-on.
