Heard this side by side with the jbl prx one and this knocks the prx one out the park. The bass the highs the throw pro 16 has is amazing. The app works flawlessly. The new models has no hiss. The column still sways a bit. Will get another one soon to do events.

An artist recommended the L1 to us, and after researching, decided on the L1 Pro16. I must say right out of the box we were thoroughly impressed with the build quality. Then we turned it on and, wow! Being a self proclaimed audiophile and bass lover, and having two SVS PB16 Ultras and KEF Reference speakers in my living room, this Pro16 held its own for sure. We took it outside and from 50’ away it simply sounded fantastic. The bass is accurate and deep, and very strong, just as it should be. I bought this one for my daughter for her upcoming singing gigs, and got another one for me to use as a portable outdoor speaker for pool parties, tailgating, and presentations. Excellent sound quality and projection. Not as easy to transport as marketed due to the weight of the base unit. Base unit cover is not included which is extremely disappointing. Array attachment does exhibit some wobble but should not be an issue. Not compatible with the legacy T1 mixer without a secondary cable; disappointing. Bluetooth mixer controls via a wireless device for 3 channels is a good idea but impractical if you are using the wireless device for performance ; charts, lyric sheets, backing tracks. You can’t adjust “on the fly”. Overall construction quality is not as good as predecessor models. ... show more

We have four "legacy" JBL Eon One One Column units which we use in a wide variety of use cases and venues. They were simple to operate and easy to transport, especially with the rolling case. After one amplifier failed, we purchased a Bose L1 Pro 16. The Bose transport case cost $325. To our surprise, the Bose L1 Pro 16 fits reasonably into our existing JBL Eon One One rolling transport case! I suspect that the L1 will out perform our JBL Eon One One for _outdoor_ sound reinforcement and at twice the cost of the discontinued JBL. The L1 maintains the simple user experience of the JBL Eon One One, including Bluetooth connectivity. It adds support for phantom power. The L1 is not as portable as the JBL since the column is stored in a second case and the column connection system seems superior to the JBL. I detracted one star due to poor software compatibility with Mac OSX 13. I installed the Bose Firmware Program using Google Chrome as instructed. I installed and launched the program and connected to Bose only to get a flashing endless loop. As a result, I am unable to check the firmware version or upgrade the L1. On the other hand, my L1 works just fine without any firmware update. The Bose iPhone app does add remote control and the ability to select equalization curves for a number of microphones such as the SM58 (mic) and various guitars (inst.). These presets are not available on the L1 directly and require the use of the remote app. The iPhone remote app is a big buggy as the program often becomes unresponsive when trying to return to a previous screen. If I am persistent, the app does eventually respond. So, to me, the remote control app is useful for live sound by controlling volume at the Home Screen. It is also useful for pre-programming the preset IQ prior to an event. My personal use case is live jazz sound reinforcement, clarinet and vocals. My experience is in indoor sound reinforcement (using a traditional PreSonus sound board and flying speakers) and outdoor sound reinforcement using a PreSonus Rack Mounted Wireless Controlled unit with three powered Column Speakers. ... show more

Lots of bottom end. Almost too much but once you learn to tweak it you’ll be extremely happy with it. It fills a big area. This is why I love Bose once again
