  • good purchase
Seems to be well made and quite sturdy. Performs well and doesn't seem to overheat. Like most of these, dust collection leaves something to be desired though it seems a little better than others I have used,

  • Worth the money
This is a nice piece of equipment. Feels a little bigger in the hand then I was expecting but comfortable. It's kind of heavy, which is great for horizontal surfaces like tables but if you're sanding a wall it can be a touch heavy. Can be held multiple ways to change it up a bit. Feels well made, solid. Just an on/off switch, that's it. No speed setting. The pad has a little flexibility to it so it's good for sanding objects with some curves to them. The pad has like a velcro surface so you just stick the 8 hole sanding disks on it and when the disk is spent you just peel it off. I recommend buying the sanding disks at the same time you buy the machine, it just makes like easier. I bought the recommended multi-pak for like $10 and it was all I needed. ... show more

  • Good dust collection
The media could not be loaded. I purchased this sander from Amazon in April, and a variable speed version from a hardware store last year. Both are quieter, have less vibration, and great dust collection. I had/have a problem with both, that Bosch doesn't seem to think exists. The gentleman from customer service told me last year... "you're just not used to the orbital motion." (I've been building furniture and doing remodeling for years.) As in the video I posted, you can see the excessive amount of wobble the sander has, which develops within a day or so of average use. This action does not leave swirl marks, but compounds fatigue while sanding. My worry is will this problem worsen, to a point where it does become detrimental to the finish. ... show more

  • Works great.
This is a really nice orbital sander. I have one and I bought this for my son. Mine has been put through an entire house renovation. Still running strong.

  • Quality sander
Nice quiet sander Even the dust catcher works pretty well Good machine for the money

  • Good, basic orbit sander with a difficult-to-use dust compartment.
I have used this sander a lot, and it does what it should without a lot of extras. It is comfortable to hold and control, without any problems with vibration. Its single speed setting is good enough to sand both hardwood and softwood. The dust collection is very good, although I understand you have to use the right sandpaper to allow the dust through. The little plastic dust collector, however, is just that: little. It is not enough to sand a sheet of 4'x8' plywood without stopping halfway through to empty it. The mechanism for opening and closing the dust collector is infuriating, especially since you have to empty it so often. Also, after significant use the dust collector would no longer stay on the sander: there is only a small force-fit ring of plastic to hold it on. For a time I was using duct tape to keep it on. Since then I have abandoned the little plastic dust compartment in favor of attaching the sander to a shop vac, and I am much happier. I have also had problems with the hook and loop pads. Even though I try not to use the sander for too long, and try to always remove the sandpaper after use, I have had to replace the pad on the sander once, and will soon have to do so a second time. I am not sure if that is me, or the sander, or if that just happens to all such orbit sanders. ... show more
