Description

The Bosch 12V Max Drill/Driver features the FlexiClick® 5-In-1 Attachment System and is designed for professionals who want a high-quality tool that redefines their limits to get the tough jobs done. At only 1.8 Lbs. (tool only, not including battery) and 265 In.-Lbs. of torque, this robust drill/driver delivers the performance you expect in the size you want. It has two speed settings, for quick jobs and precision work. It starts with a magnetic bit holder for basic driving. The four attachments – a locking bit holder, a keyless chuck, an offset angle and a right angle– each attach to the tool securely and easily with the One-Click interface. The right angle attachment is for tight spaces, and it works with all three other adapters. The offset angle attachment delivers precise screwdriving close to edges. Both of these attachments rotate to 16 positions without removing them. The locking bit holder attachment locks hex bits for high-torque drilling, while the keyless chuck provides standard drilling.

I have been looking at this sort of item for a very long time but already owning a number of drills, I could not justify getting this. But then my son started university and he said he will have projects where a drill will be very handy. I now have my excuse to get a new 1. It was shipped slowly. Well it took a long time to get here but I wasn't in a hurry to get it. Was somewhat excited about it. A little disappointed that it appeared to be a used return but for the price I got it for, I can live with that. The unit itself is so sturdy feeling and very heavy for it's size. It's about the same size as the 1 I'm sending to my son but it feels as heavy as a full sized drill. The motor is so smooth, the smoothest of any of my drills. I'm really looking forward to using this. I'm not a builder and I don't use drills on a daily basis. I just want a really good 1 for around the house things and for when I'm working on golf clubs. I have a makeshift golf shop in my garage and having a couple of drills setup with various bits that I need is incredibly convenient. I'm also intrigued by all the different changeable heads this comes with. Most of the time, I'll keep the 1/4 inch quick change head in. But having the option for other pieces is what really drew me to this. I have run into times when I needed something angled or a 90 degree turn but didn't have the right pieces to make it easy. Now I do. Having 2 batteries is no nice. I can keep going if and when 1 dies and that's really important for me. When I'm on a roll, I want to keep it going. I haven't put the drill through everything yet but I can tell it will be an amazing complement to all my power tools. ... show more

I love this Bosch Flexiclick multi-head drill/screw driver. I find it to have a very nice feel, and each snap-in piece goes in solid (though a little tight, I do find it sometimes takes a few seconds to get it just right before a piece slides into place, and it can be a little resistant to pulling the head out to allow rotating the right-angle and offset adapters). Note that unlike some reviewers, I have no issues with rotating and setting the adapters in each of the 16 positions (every 22.5 degrees), not just 90 degrees, for all pieces, including the right-angle and offset adapters. The gearing in this driver is somehow smoother than my older DeWalt or Porter Cable drivers, so I now tend to reach for this one when driving screws (easier speed control). It may not have quite as much power for driving deep screws, but that has only happened a couple of times and I just switched to my DeWalt for a second to finish it off. It does fit my hand, though I have large hands and can see where some people might find it a bit large to wrap their hand around. Update: I've had it over 1.5 years now and its working great and is my main screw driver. Note that though I use it often, I just do projects around the house and RV, so I can't speak to its durability for daily hard use like a professional would. ... show more

Much quieter, very powerful, very light, very comfortable in hand! Great quality! It surprised me yesterday when I used impact drivers on “squeeeeek no more “ 2 1/4 in screw to the wood floor. Makita 18v failed, Milwaukee 12 v fuel did a little better, Bosch 18 v did similar as Milwaukee 12v. Finally, I used Bosch 12v. It worked successfully to drive the screw in. I watched many tools review videos on YouTube. Most of them showed Milwaukee is the best. Sorry for the stereotype. Bosch 12 v this tool is the best for me! ... show more

I’m subtracting one star because it was shipped with only one battery. I bout it “reconditioned”, but I don’t think that means that it should be missing a component of the kit. I’m a fan of Bosch 12v tools, and this meets my high expectations. The power is adequate for most common tasks for finish carpenters and cabinet-installers. If you’re planning to remove lug nuts or something, then I suggest a good impact driver/wrench. I think it could drive decking screws, but it would be slow-ish, and I wouldn’t expect it to drive them all day long without damage to the tool. The attachments are very useful and feel solid. I particularly like the offset attachment for screws that need to be driven flush. I’ve worked as a cabinet installer for several years, and I foresee this being particularly useful for hardware installation. I do recommend a second drill with a 3-jaw chuck instead of repetitively changing bits in the detachable 3-jaw chuck that comes with this kit. Putting the detachable chuck back on just to loosen a drill bit and put in another bit becomes an annoyance very quickly. It’s still entirely useable, and it saves money and space compared to having a second drill. That’s the main thing that I dislike about using this drill, so I’m happy with this purchase overall. ... show more

The chameleon is a great replacement for the hammer drill i lost! The 180 degree bit is my favorite so far, it let's you drill into places you'd be hard pressed to get ANY drill into.
