  • Great little water heater!!
Size: 7 Gallon Pattern Name: Water Heater
We installed this 7 gal water heater in our " mancave" and entertainment building under the bar sink. It will be hooked up to 2 stainless steal sinks and a 18" dishwasher (not full size) Hook up was pretty easy however we had a difficult time sealing the cold intake. After removing 5 times due to slow leak ( 3 different fittings) and 1 whole roll of white plumbers tape it finally sealed. After reading the reviews we decided to take the advice and also add a way to drain the heater which was key when the intake kept leaking. It was easy toet it completely drain then remove the fitting and reattach without 7 gallons if water on the floor each time. This will also make maintaining and changing the sacrificial anode easier in the future. We put it to use thus 4th of July with a house full of people and events. It worked amazing! Kept up with the dishwasher and both sinks. Haven't had it long enough to know how long it will last or the durability. At the moment we are happy with our choice. ... show more

  • Great little hot water heater!
Size: 7 Gallon Pattern Name: Water Heater
This is my 3rd time purchasing these tanks... I bought one 2 years ago so I could use it with my off grid solar.. 2 years it's been and it's still going strong, so I decided to buy 2 more.. 1 to replace my 40 gallon electric hot water heater and another for a spare ( prepping)... I don't know what some people are complaining about on the few bad reviews, I mean don't you people have any brains or common sense?.. it's a 7 gallon hot water heater, you can't expect a 20 minute hot shower but I can get a 10 to 12 minute shower and I like pretty warm showers... Plus on top of that it uses less than 1\3 of the electric my 40 gallon heater did, plus I can run it on solar or a small generator, it takes about 35 minutes to fully recover, and seems well built and judging from the other one I put in 2 years ago seems quite reliable.. My only complaint is I bought them returned.. one was brand new and never installed so I put that one in my preps.. the other however was installed by a sloppy plumber who marked it up with pipe dope and gouged it quite a bit.. I installed that one, it works great but should've been less than 204.00 in my opinion which was marked as like new.. but anyways no fault of the hot water heater, just incompetent people, but I saved 160 dollars buying 2 of them though so I can live with it having a few marks back in a closet where no one can see it anyways... I highly recommend these water heaters from having one for over 2 years now and it has been 100% problem free and I have 2 of them operating in my home, one does my downstairs bathroom and kitchen and the other does my upstairs bathroom and laundry room.. the money you'll save on electric over the life of the tank will pay for itself... Oh and by the way these small tanks heat the water up way way hotter than a regular hot water tank, so you use way less hot water taking a shower, that's way I can get a 10 to 12 minute shower, you could never hold your hand under straight hot water coming from these.. a regular hot water tank heats the water to 120 degrees where as these small tanks heat water to 140 to 160.. And they are really well insulated too will keep water hot for hours before needing to cycle on.. ... show more

  • Nice water saving hot water heater
Size: 4 Gallon Pattern Name: Water Heater
These hot water heaters work great. I’ve purchased two. The only thing is they only last 4-5 years. Then they will start leaking and will need to be replaced. The problem with them leaking is by the time you realize they are leaking, water is everywhere. I recommend putting a plastic catch tube under the heater. In my case I even added a second larger plastic tube with drain pipe tying the two pans together. So when the first tube fills almost to the top the water will drain into the second larger tube as insurance so I will most likely notice the heater is leaking. ... show more

  • Great option for under the sink to provide instant hot water. But maintenance is a pain.
Size: 2.5 Gallon Pattern Name: Water Heater
[UPDATED] I dropped my rating due to premature anode failure (see below.) I used to have to wait just over a minute in the AM for hot water to get from my main water heater to the kitchen sink (this unit is in-line with the current hot water line. This little unit solves that problem, and now the water is hot instantly. Note that this is not an on-demand heater, it has a tank and element that keeps the water hot. It's the smallest Bosch unit, but at 2.5 gallons it has enough capacity that I get instant hot water and not much drop off in temp as the first blast of cold water in the feed pipe mixes in. Likes: Standard 3 outlet plug makes it easy to install if you have a plug under your sink or nearby; Small form factor makes it easy to fit under a sink, although it does take a up a bit of space (13x13x11); Fittings are standard 1/2 inch threaded fittings at the top of the unit. Dislikes: [UPDATED] The anode in the unit is too small, and really needs to be replaced annually, not every 2 years like the manual says. That's just too often, and if you don't replace it before it's gone, then electrolysis eats away at the exposed metal joints in the tank and BOOM, you have a serious leak. Anode inspection/replacement really requires removal of the tank because you need to unplug it, drain it, and remove the heating element. That can be a pain. A larger anode, one that could actually last 2 years, would be a 20 cent product improvement that would cut customer warranty calls at least in half. Unit should ship with a spare anode as well. The temp control has no markings for actual temps, nor is there a thermometer that shows current water temp. A digital control with temp gauge would make this much better; the cord is only 3 feet long, which may be a problem for some installations; the black pipe fittings appear to have a coating on them and I found that they leak a little (I used PTFE sealant for a successful, dry installation.) [Update May 2023] see the picture above of a new and 1 year old anode. The base of the anode is very degraded and is soon to be the the first part to snap off, well before the 2 year mark. That renders the anode useless, and you will need a new tank, plus repairs for any water damage. The good news is it's not particularly hard to change, and while changing it you'll get an idea of how much scale you have in your water. Cleaning the tank and the heating element from scale is pretty simple as well once you have everything out. I really like what this heater does in my kitchen I just wish the maintenance didn't have to occur so frequently. ... show more
