  • Edge
It works pretty great on 4ft material haven't use the two pieces together

  • Good for rough cuts
Got this as a prime day deal. I didn't need to use this until after the return date had expired. When I did need to use the clamp I found it was damaged from the factory. The adjustable clamp is difficult to get it to release and move along the track. The center where the two pieces connect flexes, so check your alignment with a tape to ensure it is straight throughout. ... show more

  • Expected better precision
This edge guide is well designed and the clamping mechanism appears to work very well. I was a bit disappointed in the packaging as it came in a form-fitting cardboard box without any padding. One of the corners of the aluminum extruded edges was slightly dented but fortunately I was able to persuade it back into compliance. The screws for attaching the extension were philips and I'll probably be trading those out for hex drive for better longevity. However, I was disappointed was that the extension edge extrusion is not exactly the same width as the primary edge extrusion. The primary edge extrusion is exactly 76.2mm (3.00in) along its entire length while the extension edge extrusion is 76.5mm (3.01in) along its entire length. This may not seem like much, but it is certainly noticeable and undermines the express purpose of this edge guide as it causes any tool to snag when traversing the joint, even Bora's own 544006 saw guide. ... show more

  • Disappointing imprecision
For a tool intended to "achieve straight, precise cuts" and "professional" results, I found the machining of this tool to be surprisingly imprecise, especially when it came to how the two parts fit together. The first 50 inches are fine, but when it comes to a $100 tool that basically does one thing, it left much to be desired. Attached are photos showing how the extension I received was larger than the primary piece, the measurements were inaccurate, and when attempting to use this as a straight edge to edge joint with a router, my work piece was left with a significant bump in the road. Sincerely disappointed. I'll probably hold on to it for smaller pieces only because it would be a pain to find a box to try to ship it back, but I could have gotten by with a much less expensive tool for 50 inches. Maybe somebody from Bora will reach out and send me something with better workmanship. Doubtful, but here's hoping! ... show more

  • Does it job
It does it job, but you need to be cognisant of how square it is. It's best to mark whatever you are cutting on both ends of the sheet, line up the straight edge, then cut. Also if it doesn't line up perfectly when bolting both extrusions together, both ends where it bolts up is adjustable.

  • works as it should
could be a little more heavy duty

  • Not straight
It’s a straight edge and mine ain’t straight. It’s close, and as long as you’re rough ripping plywood it’s usable, but if you sight alone the length of the one I got there’s a curvature. Switching between the one-half and two-half configurations takes time with four screws, which is a missed opportunity for a quick-disconnect design. Also on thin stock the clamping force can bow the sheet, and there’s no means of quick adjustment. You need to unclamp and walk to the other side to move the stop and walk back to try again. ... show more
