Works as advertised. Yes the screws were real tight and seemed like they were gonna strip but I used a good screw driver and took my time. Yes it seemed like it wasn't straight at the joint when put together, but I loosened all 8 screws and snuggled them up after I aligned the 2 sections at the joint. Got this as a prime day deal. I didn't need to use this until after the return date had expired. When I did need to use the clamp I found it was damaged from the factory. The adjustable clamp is difficult to get it to release and move along the track. The center where the two pieces connect flexes, so check your alignment with a tape to ensure it is straight throughout. ... show more

    • Don't plan of using the clamp. It is worthless.
The aluminum straight edge is great, while the clamping system is a joke. The little pads that are supposed to keep the clamps in place fall off easily and get lost. If you are fortunate to find them; they will not glue on very well. I'll keep the bar but paid way to much for it thinking the clamping system would speed up the process. ... show more

arrived obviously used, some extra long screws had been used to join it, so the aluminum was bent there. the joint is kind of flimsy and it wobbles there. the clamp works, but only most of the time, you have to fiddle with it. it works OK, but for the price I was expecting new and higher quality. wouldn't buy this brand again. ... show more

It was great the first few times then the locking mechanism got hard to use them after a few more times it exploded into pieces. The sturdiness has a bit of un-sturdiness built right into it. I would not recommend this unless your willing to pay $8.00 per cut.

    • Long, but breaks down easy
Great long straight edge. I found the integrated clamps a bit of challenge. However once you figure out how the 'stop' sets itself I'd say it's okay. Sometimes I use additional end clamps to supplement. Set screws come out easily to break down 1/2 length for storage and transport
