This shredder is a big upgrade from the more basic 5-9 sheet devices I previously owned. The main upgrade is that it can be run for a long time without stop. Other shredders overhead after 5 minutes. This one can go for about an hour.. although I stop at around 30 minutes most of the time. The motor is also much more powerful then most average at home shredders and it can easily shred 10 sheets at once. The feeder is nice for stacks of letter sized paper.. but does require some preparation to get it to feed properly. Overall I'm happy with this shredder.

A strong shredder. It reliably handles a thick pile of paper (120 sheets) and has the power to do a great job. It is simple to empty and clean.

The media could not be loaded. I bought this model because I was tired of the lower cost models getting jammed or the motor burning out, and this had good reviews, at a moderate price, and was a crosscut shredder. It is much quieter than the models I've used in the past, could almost listen to the tv or radio while shredding. Purchased this for home use, shredding personal/private information. I should note that I tend to shred like once a year (clean out my files and shred). So I do alot at once. The 12 page max worked well but occasionally it would overload (even with 12 sheets, pretty sure the thickness of the paper is a factor). The Reverse function worked to free the overload with a little tugging and then I could reduce the stack and restart. Every 30 minutes or so, it would overheat and I would take a break. I could restart about 30 minutes later. My biggest complaint is that the shredding blades do not clear the shredded paper fully, see the picture and video clip (even if I use the forward button before lifting the shredder from the basket), so it is a very messy process when the basket is full. Shreds everywhere! The shredder top is also quite heavy which makes emptying not easy. I would try to lift and tip the top as shown in the picture so I could pull out the compacted but dangling shreds into the bin before emptying the bin. There really is no good way to not make a mess, and its impossible to fully clear the blades as the video shows. We will see how long this model lasts but I'm thinking not long given how compacted the shreds in the underside of the blades becomes. The manual recommends oiling the unit monthly but has no information on how to do that. And other than a damp rag to clean the shredding dust, there isn't much else for maintenance recommendations. So no idea how to clear the blades of shreds.

UPDATE - received replacement for first shredder that did not work. Have been using the replacement unit and so far it has worked flawlessly. Very pleased with unit. Very quiet and does a great job with the micro-cut. At this point, I would recommend. Very quiet unit and shredded papers well. Very pleased with the super micro-cut. However, only Forward worked. Reverse never did work. On day 3 neither Forward nor Reverse worked. Returned unit. Bought a replacement with the same model. Will give it one more try. If second unit gives me any trouble, I will not buy this brand again.

I'm satisfied with my new Bonsen paper shredder. It isn't as big as our last one but will do just fine.

First off, when we received the product and opened it, it looked like it had already been used because there were paper shreds left in it. I understand why it was returned; we will likely return it too. We have a heavy-duty shredder, but we were needing to dispose of more paper than before, so we needed another machine. I could not find the same machine that was purchased long ago, so I purchased this one that seemed like it would be heavy duty and get the job done, but that was an incorrect assumption. Our good old faithful shredder that we have had for 7 or more years still will run circles around this machine. I bought this product to quickly dispose of large amounts of paper easily, but I find that I have to babysit it for it to function correctly. It seems finicky on whether it is going to shred or not, it is like you have to encourage it to do its job. Also, the tray that holds up the papers to feed them causes too many papers at once to be pulled causing a jam. It is a hassle. Besides that, the machine feels cheap quality and is VERY noisy and sounds like it has something breaking or going out. I don't know if all of this is normal or not, but we have not been happy with the product at all and will likely be returning it.

Good for home use: intermittent small boil yea. Gets tired and quits on its own to rest every 45 min. Did not service its purpose at the office so I brought it home.
