This is a review of the 24-page heavy duty shredder. I had a nice one that did about a dozen pages. After about 10 years it finally died. I replaced it with an Amazon one that lasted about 9 months.. I literally got tired of it jamming so I threw it out - literally. I bought this 24page monster for a lot of money to replace it. I’m glad I did. It is VERY heavy, and top heavy at that. Once in place, I used it for shredding lots of papers I had plus all the junk mail we get. It takes an entire Lands End catalog and Walmart brochures without a sweat. Feeding a dozen or two pagers into it at once, the motor never slowed or sounded like it was bogged down. It’s very quiet in operation. The unit has a fan that runs once it starts shredding too. I really like this machine and I’m glad I spent the extra money on it. The only negative is that the unit doesn’t “auto start”. You have to turn the power on (or, leaving the power on, push the On button). Not a huge issue at all, but every other shredder basically has “slide a page into the slot and it starts shredding”. I should mention that the slot is wide enough that you can get a bunch of pager in the ‘area’ of the slot and it starts feeding and shredding. My last Amazon shredder required much more direct precision for paper feeding. This unit is heavy and expensive. It’s also quiet and shreds the crap out of 20+ pagers at a time, no kidding. It’s the real deal.

This is certainly an upgrade to other shredders sold at retail stores. First of all, the packaging was impressive and the unit worked like it had turbochargers. My old shredder stopped after eight minutes but the Bonsaii went through 200 pages in less than five minutes. It also works quieted that my smaller unit. In one half hour I got 5 large trash bags filled with shredded paper. Regarding price, this was certainly worth the investment as it runs like a sports car. If you want more performance then the next shredder up is triple the price. Lots of research was done to get the best, all around shredder for my office and the Bonsaii was it!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I purchased this one for the 200 page auto shed. I watched videos on the best ones and this company was named for a lower paged shredder. I have 3 huge boxes of documents. I've had to empty the bin 5 times already and I've only shed half of the first box. Anyone need confetti? I'm very happy with it so far, as it arrived today. However, I am concerned because when it arrived the delivery guy/ gal dropped it at my door on cement. Nothing was broken on the outside and it's working fine today. Keeping my fingers crossed that nothing on the inside breaks from being dropped them used heavily. I only have 4 stars due to it being dropped at the door. I heard the thud it made when dropped. I was inside, across the room with doors and windows closed. It was a loud thud. I know the deliver person didn't know what was being delivered.

I bought this shredder to destroy old files from my accounting practice. Lots of paper. While auto-feed paper scanners are never perfect, this one comes close. I selected this shredder over a higher rated one after reading a one star review of the other one that said it would only shred 3-4 direct feed documents after being rated at 8 pages. I am very happy with this one's ability to shred boxes of paper files and never gets tired. The large bin holds quite a lot of shredded paper as well.

The shredding aspect is great. But the unit I got will not turn itself off after the paper has been shredded. I have tried cleaning the sensor as indicated in the instructions. I am waiting to hear back from Bonsaii to see if they have a fix or if I need to exchange the unit. Update: Bonsaii had me do some testing and verify the issue by sending then a video. They agreed it was a problem and sent me a new unit. Great customer service. Bumped from 3 stars to 5.
