I've had this 8-sheet micro-cut shredder for a while now and I'm overall happy with it. It replaced our workhorse Fellowes shredder because that previous one choked on a single metal credit card and now it wouldn't stop at all. It just kept running and running. Bought this Bonsaii micro-cut shredder. At first, I thought a plant came with the purchase, but that's completely false. I mean, come on now, the brand name is Bonsaii so you would think there's a bonsai plant there somewhere. So yeah, this is a good micro-cut shredder. It is fairly quiet compared to our old Fellowes shredder. However, this one is slower than the Fellowes cross-cut. I'm guessing it's because it's a micro-cut shredder and it seems to be more secure compared to the cross-cut shredders. I also like the handle thing were you can pop it up and use it to hold the shredder mechanism up while you empty the bag. It's not that heavy too. I also like the safety features of this shredder. Just keep your kids away from it and you won't have to call 911 or something. ... show more

Although this paper shredder is on the loud side, it gets the job done! The large holding tub is a plus! I am not dumping the shredded paper constantly. Like the lubricant sheets that came with shredder. Very pleased with this workhorse.

I was used to having this big, 10-page Fellows shredder, and it was good, but I'm not an office. I had to get a new shredder, and the big ones were not in my budget. Reluctaly I purchased this one, not thinking it'd be much of a replacement. I was wrong. I've been really happy with this shredder. It's very easy to maintain. I don't have to put oil in it like I did the big, old shredder. It's self contained and easy to lift. Its bin holds a surprising amount of shredding. Since it is a little smaller than the old one, I've gotten pretty good about tearing off the part with my label or the part of the page or even the entire bill, and throwing the rest of it--it's just junk--in the trash. I really don't have to empty it often using it like this. Takes up less space. I'd say that for the money and the value, it's a good choice. Oh....it shreds credit cards, too! ... show more

This is an efficient, compact, and quiet shredder that provides good value for home use. For individuals who routinely shred either voluminous or numerous documents, this shredder regularly "overheats" and shuts down for 40 minute intervals. While the device indicates that it can handle stacks of ten pages at a time, doing so repeatedly will rapidly cause the machine to overheat and shut down. For example, in my experiment shredding a 100-page document in 10-page increments, the machine indicated an overheat error midway through shredding pages 40-50, and shut down for 40 minutes. In other words, if you need to shred the occasional piece of mail or handful of small documents, this is a good choice for the money, and I am rating it as such for that purpose. This is just meant as a warning that it is not suitable for office use or for individuals who regularly need to shred large or voluminous documents. ... show more
