The kit comes with 6 tiny off-white pots with matching plant trays. The pots are made of a thick plastic material and have several drainage holes. They come with a tiny shovel, rake, pruning scissors and black wire for future shaping. There's some soil ammendemnt material provided and small discs to line the base of the pots. The box itself contains a bit of info on each tree type and propagation - how long to soak the seeds, how long before shaping, how long before blooming (7 to 10 years till bloom for them so good for pacticing patience) . What I'm really happy with is the seed quantity you get. Good number of each type so that you can start out with a few sprouts and have some room for trial and error. I like that the kit makes it easy to get started, though it'll be at least a few years before I'll know if I've had real success if/when I get to the shaping stage.

Bonsai trees have always captivated me so I was excited to try a kit that would let me grow my own with 8 different varieties. This kit requires patience. It takes a while for seeds to sprout and for the versions that bloom, it will be years before that happens. I like that it includes everything needed from soil and seeds to pots to tools and markers. When I couldn't find my instruction manual, I sent a note to the vendor and got an electronic copy that provides detailed and thorough instructions. I would love to be further along before rating the kit and will come back to post pictures once I have little trees to show. Overall, this is a great kit and a really good value. I'd feel good giving it as a gift knowing it includes everything that's needed.

This kit comes with all you need to grow your own little bonsai garden. It’s so awesome and fun! I recommend it to any avid plant grower it truly is a fun activity for the whole family. I love that it comes with 8 varieties! I feel like my whole house is going to have a bonsai in each room with how much my kids loved this. It’s got a great info packet as well that helps with sunlight and watering levels. It’s really a great set.
