I twisted my knee, and the pain was excruciating. The doctor told me that I may have torn my meniscus. He taped my leg with Kinesio tape, which helped, but my knee still felt very unstable. When I walked, things that didn't ordinarily move shifted around my knee, and sometimes my kneecap popped. I researched what type of knee brace was appropriate for a torn meniscus and ordered this one. I was very impressed with the quick delivery. I ordered it one afternoon, and it arrived before lunch the next day! It's been a lifesaver for my knee. When I wear this, my knee feels well-supported and secure. This brace has reduced my pain tremendously from the first time I wore it. No more odd things moving and no more popping. It has been necessary for me to walk a lot for several days since I purchased this. Although it supports my knee, it does not minimize the swelling of my leg after having been on it all day. However, when I have time to rest and put up my feet, the swelling goes down. The brace is quite comfortable. I've jumped off of roofs and tall trees when I was a kid. I smashed heavy bars and tools that slipped into my knees when I worked on cars throughout my teens and into my twenties. I abused my knees with all the running, relatively heavy weight carrying for hours, cycling, marching, foot chases, jumping and so on that comes with being an MP in the Army for years also when I was in my twenties. I'm in my 30s and experience knee pain from time to time and this brace really helps to hold it together so I can walk feeling supported and reducing pain. I have patellar tendinitis, aka jumper's knee, and I was having a lot of pain playing volleyball, especially blocking and any form of jumping. I was afraid I was going to have to stop playing for a while, but this knee brace is crazy good! I play without pain and even played a double header the second time out with it and my knee felt great afterwards. I have thick thighs slim calves and very narrow knees the way this is made it works very well for those of us who have wierd chicken legs lol the only complaint I have is it will rub the back of your leg raw if you don't put some sort of barrier in between you and the brace like a pair of leggings or a sleeve of some sorts there is no metal in this brace so if you need an immobilized brace this is not the one for you this more for spots and daily therapeutic use ... show more

Good brace for the price. I bought it to help in recovery after injuring my knee while making a mad dash across the airport to change terminals and make a connecting flight. It has done exactly what I wanted it to do: keep my knee warm and add a bit of stability, compression and help with the trip home until I can get into see the doctor. It's a bit bulky but it's do-able and I've been able to wear it comfortably most of the day. The side compression straps do slip and rub against the open part in the back but that's fixable with a tube of fabric. Longevity? That remains to be seen. I've had it for a few weeks and it's held up but not sure the velco or the structure will hold up. Take away: if you're looking for an affordable, quick solution...it's worth the money. ... show more
