  • Solid as a rock
It’s so solid that it feels like it’s bolted to the Floor. Probably totally overkill but I am happy I got it. I added the lat pulldown attachment and the 2 together makes for a smooth and professional setup.

  • Insane quality for the price, and fits in a drop ceiling basement!
I was absolutely blown away by the quality of this rack when it arrived. It's constructed with 11 gauge 3x3 tube steel, has a wide walk in, a fully knurled pull-up bar, and a combination of 1" and 2" spacing for j-cups and safety pins: it really doesn't get much better than this--certainly not at this price point! There are also holes for band pegs on the top and bottom cross-members, and a wide range of attachments from both Body Solid and other manufacturers that are compatible with it. For comparison, it's virtually identical in spec to the Rogue Monster Lite RML-490, but about 11" shorter (and $300 cheaper) allowing more flexibility to fit in just about any home gym location. My basement ceiling is *exactly* 7 feet tall, and it fits perfectly. Granted, the knurled pull-up bar is really only useful to me as a means of doing leg raises or wrapping bands around with such a small amount of clearance between the bar and my ceiling, but I was easily able to remedy the issue by purchasing Body Solid's multi-grip pull-up bar (SPRCUA) and installing it upside down; that gave me clearance to do chest-to-bar pull-ups, and even in my squat shoes (where I stand right around 6' 1") it doesn't interfere with normal use! Construction was fairly easy, just have a 15/16" socket and wrench on hand. The instructions were clear and all of the hardware was there; nothing missing. I built it by myself in about an hour or so, but it's probably advisable to have a helper. While hole spacing was my main selling point; it allows for finer control of safety bar and j-cup positions--no need to settle for too high or low, like many other cages; I'm just super impressed with the rack as whole. The material quality is so high, it's built like a tank, no wiggle or wobble; no creaking and squeaking, I don't see a reason I'd ever have to replace this. I would absolutely recommend this to anyone. ... show more

  • THIS is gym quality
I was on the fence only because the height of the cage. Im 6'2". BUT since I dont do any standing shoulder pressing or have the high/low cable attachment OR do pullups its not a big deal. This cage is as quality as any of the big brands out there that everyone talks about. Body Solid has been around for YEARS...In their day they were the REP,Rouge,Titan etc..AND honestly they still are. This cage is heavy. NO JOKE. I wont bore you with my weights "pounds" i lift like some do. I'll just say it will do what you want and far far more. Easy to assemble and I even added some old weight horns i took off my other rack AND my old JHooks which gives me 2 sets to use..This is one of those things you want to pass down to family after you die.. ... show more

  • A very solid piece with multiple options for attachments
I got this rack 5 days ago and put it together the same day I received it. I didn’t it by myself and it was quite a pain because you have to hold multiple pieces at the same time and they are above the head level so if you can get a helper, please do. I figure the assembly process is painful with all of these so I definitely can’t downgrade it for it however. Overall it’s a very solid and stable (despite being on carpet) piece of equipment that didn’t need to be bolted down and to be honest, it would be unnecessary considering how stable it is right now. The built is high quality and I know Body Solid has attachments for it which I’ll definitely be buying as soon as this COVID-19 stuff settles down. Also, the seller is pretty amazing as they kept in touch with me throughout the process and when I made an inquiry with them, I heard back in less than 2 hrs ... show more

  • Great for the price
I purchased this on black friday sale at somewhere around $750 which is a screaming deal for a rack of this quality. Construction can be done alone, however, I would recommend having a friend help you. I did it by myself. To do it by yourself you will need: - 15/16" socket and wrench - Sandbags/weights The more precarious part of construction is the uprights before they are connected. You will want to first install the triangle pieces, then carefully place the uprights into position and tighten them. After the first upright on each leg is done you need to weight each leg as much as possible to prevent wobble. Once this is done, focus on securing the top, and then loosely fitting the pull up bar. This is slightly out of order from the instructions, but the pull up bar will insure you can focus on one thing at a time instead of fiddling around with a dozen things. These pieces are HEAVY. Which is why they recommend doing it with two people. If it falls, it's damaging whatever it lands on...or going through your drywall. Use caution and proceed slowly. Regardless PAY ATTENTION TO THE DIAGRAMS. The legs are not at the end (they are in-set slightly) and this could cause much unneeded frustration. Anyway...great piece of equipment for the price. Comparable to a $1500-$2000 Rogue brand one. It's hard to find 11 gauge steel for under $1000. ... show more

  • It is truly SOLID and perfect for low ceilings.
This is a great squat rack! I was looking for a cage that was not too tall as my ceilings are very low, this one fit the bill just perfectly. You will definitely needed two people to set up, my friend came to help me and glad he did. Once put together, I was glad to see I could still slide it out of the way by myself to open the cabinet doors behind, as it's the best location for my space. Super happy with this purchase! Also SERIOUS STEEL was just Super Professional to purchase from - just amazing communication. ... show more
