The Bodum Eileen French Press Coffee Maker was developed to honor not only the great Irish designer Eileen Gray (1879-1976), but also all of the coffee connoisseurs who frequent the bistros and cafes of Paris - Gray's adopted city. It's specifically designed to withstand the exacting conditions of busy cafe and restaurant use. A solid, stainless steel frame protects the glass from knocks and bumps. The Bodum Eileen French Press Coffee Maker comes in three different sizes (0.35-Litre, 1/2-Litre and 1.0-Litre) and has all the wonderful advantages of a French Press system built into its modern style. It's made from borosilicate glass, stainless steel, chrome-plated steel and plastic and all parts are dishwasher safe, 3-Cup, 0.35-Litre.

This coffee maker should be the top of the line, and remembering the company is certainly not the new kid on the block. The reason I purchased this particular model reflects on the experience I had with the 3-cup Bodum French Press. That model was a little small and the beaker was not protected enough from accidentally being broken. The Eileen model has an all metal strainer which is great. The negative part is the fact that the beaker is loose inside the metal holder. There is no way the unit allows for one to tighten it. I pull the knob up and the beaker easily comes out of the holder. The previous one I had, had screws by the handle. I would be very interested if the company/probably not the one who actually made it/ has any feedback. The company emailed me back. They said all the Eileen model presses are loose so as to clean the glass better. THAT IS A COP OUT answer. I took a piece of sticky Velcro/the ruff side/ stuck it to the inside of the holder by the handle, which made the glass stay in place while pouring. Shame on Bodum, leaving a significant space between the holder and the glass, so when it pours the glass moves.

It wasn't as large as I thought it was going to be, but it's great for a delicious cup of french pressed coffee. The design is great and is good for someone who only wants 1-2 cups of coffee. I am kind of a coffeeholic so the larger one would be better for me, but this one works just as well! The design is very modern and looks great in any kitchen! The only thing I'd like to point out is to keep in mind that the top silver lid is actually plastic and not metal. This isn't a huge issue, but may not last as long? Just something to keep in mind. Tip: I bought this as a replacement for another one I had (same company) that I broke the glass part for. After receiving this, I learned that Bodum sells replacement glass pieces, so if you break, you may want to buy one of those instead of a whole new french press.

Perfect as always. I sent mine back because it looked ugly and squat beside my other Bodums. It took up too much space in the allotted spot in my display of other Bodum pots. Had it been a miniature of the others, with the same relative proportions, I'd have kept it! Instead, I kept the smallest carafe which looks like the baby pot of my collection. Now there is no more room, so there will be no more carafes added. As an aside, the smallest pot is perfect for one serving. The pot I returned is lovely, so go ahead and buy it. It's skinny sister is used every day and her shiny Eileen holder is surprisingly easier to clean than the classic style Bodum. Five Stars, if you don't mind it's unique squat shape. Hey, it's kinda funny because I am short and squat, LOL.

A very attractive, very well-made French press coffee maker. I picked this one because the metal frame seems to protect the glass container very well. If you follow the directions you can easily make an excellent cup of French press coffee. Unfortunately, I discovered that French press brew does not agree with my physiology. It makes a very acidic coffee (hard on my stomach), and one that leaves me feeling hyper and jangled. So I'm back to my Cuisinart with thermos carafe for home and aeropress for travel. And someone on my gift list will receive a very nice, very slightly used French Press. So do your research before you buy, not after.

We loved our old Bodum French Press (the one that looks very similar, but with a square handle) so when the glass was accidentally broken we bought this one. The quality is the same and it works perfectly. the only difference is the old model's metal tube was about quarter of an inch taller and bottom plastic was not sticking out as much not mentioning that square handle was a little bit more comfortable to grip it and more convenient for storage. So the functionality is definitely there, but not as stylish as it used to be.

The pictures online don't do this item any justice! It's not a tacky gold chrome as the 1st picture shows, but it's more of a classy gold chrome that would fit any midcentury modern and/or Hollywood regency home. I've posted a picture to this listing. It is absolutely gorgeous. 34 ounces is pretty significant and will hold about 2-3 Starbucks tall coffee cups. I love my coffee piping hot and after the recommended 4 minute process, my coffee is still piping hot. Love it. I took away 1 star because it costs twice as much as another Bodum 34oz. french press....and I'm sure the performance is the same too. I just couldn't give up the lovely design. I figured that I'll be using this daily for years, so another $15 is nothing.

Green color is not as bright as pictured, it's far duller, but the pattern is as cool in person. Glass carafe seems to be high quality. Carafe fits into the holder a bit loosely, so you may need to use two hands when pouring last drops. Plunger and lid fit tightly, but it can be a bit annoying, worried it might "fray" and have some leaky edges as it ages as the springs are bit thin and loose. Overall, am satisfied with this purchase.

I used to own a store brand coffee pot and i THOUGHT that was good coffee. until i began doing some research and found that people preferred french press over "drip coffee makers". So i loved the Bodum Eileen 17-Oz. French Press Coffee Maker as it suited my decor taste and bought it. It works wonderfully i can truly taste all the flavors in the coffee and if i put Organic vanilla ice cream in my coffee it taste like coffee shops creamed coffee in my house! I am simply amazed at why more people are not owning a french coffee press. I love mine and will NEVER go back to drip EVER. Everything in my coffee press works fine the glass is durable and lid stays on, functions wonderfully.
