Description

Tea and the British seem to be inseparable in our perception of English culture. When BODUM was asked by the British Tea Council to develop a new way of brewing tea we were rather proud. We set out with the goal to make an innovation in tea drinking and the simple BODUM tea-brewing system was born: boil water, place your preferred tea leaves in the stainless steel filter, pour in the hot water, let steep 3-4 min. or to your preferred taste and press down the plunger. The brewing process has stopped - no need to remove the filter - no mess - no burned fingers, only the true unforgettable and delicious taste of your preferred tea. The clear glass makes the infusion visible at all times, making it a very attractive table piece. Everything can go in the dishwasher, the jug (without the rod and lid) can go in the microwave.

I love hot tea, particularly in the winter. I usually drink a pot a day, so I need a way to keep it hot for several hours. I have a tea warmer that does not work for rounded bottom tea pots. My last teapot fell off the warmer onto the table (4 inches) and shattered! This Bodum is 4 cups, about the amount I drink in a day, and has a flat bottom the diameter of the tea warmer. Since the shape is cylindrical, the candle warms straight above, not trying to heat the contents of the pot that protrude over the side of the warmer. The pot has a simple design, is well made (in Denmark) and is easy to clean. There seem to be few pots that have steepers with small enough holes for loose Rooibus tea. I suppose I could pour it through a paper coffee filter. I love my pot of hot tea over a glowing candle! ... show more

This teapot is great to use for coffee, the steel-filter is very fine and fits perfectly in the teapot (rim is made of rubber). It has a plunger to use when finished brewing, and it holds a good 4 cups of coffee. My husband steals a cup on weekends when I brew my own, cause it's better than the coffee from the coffee machine! It's made totally out of glass, the handle fit's perfectly ( and I do have some problems if handles or grips are too thin since I have arthritis) and it pours without dripping! I like that the container is borosilicate glass. The strainer holes are kind of big. Maybe I can replace the strainer another fine mesh stainless steel one. The screw that holds the handle is a bit loose and it won't tighten up.

We combined this with the "Grosche Alexandria Stainless Steel Teapot Warmer". The combination works great. The circumference of the teapot warmer is just slightly larger than the pot. We have not put the teapot in the dishwasher as I'm not sure how well the plastic handle would hold up with repeated washes. But we're very happy with how sturdy it is. Love it. It works perfectly for my needs. I have used it daily. I like that it is glass and I can see the color of the tea. the handle was a tad loose when I received it and I tightened with a small screw driver and has been perfect since.

So sleek and easy to use! Would recommend an easier tea chamber, because it gets clogged and can be hard to clean completely. Brews tea perfectly and shows through the glass when it's ready.
