Description
First of all, knives are one of the most important tools in a kitchen. For some people they even become an obsession. Understandably so, because after having worked with a state-of-the-art knife there is no going back. Secondly, knives need to be handy - right there on the kitchen counter for easy access and yet safely stored at the same time. The Bistro knife keeps your everyday paring, utility, chef's and bread knives handy and safe. The inside of the knife block is made of a myriad of very fine plastic sticks allowing any knife to sit anywhere in the block - tight and secure. The block's casing is made of plastic and its silicon feet anchor it firmly.

So much better than those wood bloom knife holders. Sleek

Big quality control issue
Color: Black
Seemed to be the best choice for a limited counter space. Bought my first Bodum Bistro Knife Block about 10 years ago. It served well until recently the material of the body of the block became disgustingly sticky and the "straws" holding the knives all twisted. This was odd and too soon in my opinion, but as a creature of habit I ordered the same one. It arrived with the bottom broken and separated. Annoying but ok, lets return and try again. The second one came with the bottom not broken but separated and not attachable. Call me mad, but I have given it the third try, even though now I see many other reviews with the same problem. Holding my fingers crossed, will update. UPDATE: The second exchange did not help. The third block arrived with exactly same problem, the bottom is not attached and is not attachable. As I am not the only one reporting the same problem with this item, shame on the manufacturer and the seller who ignore these reports and continue selling a defective item for a lofty price.

Holds a bunch of knives really easily
Color: Black
Love that I don't need to get my knives out of a drawer. Looks great on the counter and doesn't take a bunch of real estate on the counter. Don't like that my bread knife with the many teeth catches on the plastic pieces. Honestly though as the knives have found their homes the plastic pieces have loosened up and made it easier to put knives in

Good investment for your knives
Color: Black
Holds a lot of knives, more than butcher block. Takes up less space and far more attractive than the large wooden butcher block. I was given the same knife holder as a gift to each daughter. Money well spent.

Broke in 1 day
Color: Black
I love the design. It fits all sizes of knife and allows for any configuration. I ordered one and the bottom was broken when it arrived. I ordered a replacement and the bottom broke in a day. My husband glued it back, but it broke again.

Love this
Color: Black
Modern and tidy looking. Gotten these for gifts. Had mine for many years now. Would never go back to a wood block. Fits my 10 knives!

Perfect!
Color: Black
I bought one for my son three years ago and it has held up very well and decided to buy one for myself. I highly recommend for your counter top. Thin and takes up very little space.

terrible
Color: Black
I have bought 3 of these and everyone was ruturned, I was hoping the bottom falling off was a fluke... but it wasn't, I'll not be trying a 4th time, save your money
