Instead, they sent me four brand new BODUM French presses! I've reached out to see if that was a mistake and they want me to return three. I've always loved BODUM French presses. My broken part was really quite an anomaly. First update: I've changed my rating to four stars, because I was able to get through to BODUM customer support and they say they will be sending me a replacement part soon. I've bought these before and like them a lot, so I thought I was getting a good product this time too. Oddly, the "press" part of this one--not the glass-- broke. Actually split in the middle. Makes it hard to get it into the pot. Never had that happen before. Unfortunately, the Amazon return window on this item closed a week ago. But fortunately, reaching out to BODUM directly worked. Works well for exactly 1 12oz cup of coffee. Kept the coffee warm as well as any other French press and was easy to operate. Coffee tasted as it always does. Easy to press & easy to pour. Cute & takes up less counter space than full size French presses. No complaints, however, one word of caution. Arrived new but not boxed, it arrived wrapped in bubble wrap, which may affect decision if purchasing as a gift. UPDATE: Unfortunately it worked great twice then started leaking when pouring because the plunger wouldn't go down far enough so the plastic lid was raised a bit and the coffee escaped when pouring. I hand washed it only, no dishwasher but it still leaked after 2 uses. On a more positive note, we have this same brand in a larger size with a metal lid & it consistently works great. We've had that one at least 6 months. No problems. ... show more

There isn't much in the design of a French Press than can be improved upon. This model is very inexpensive, and IMO that's because every possible means of cutting costs has been done. The included filter is crap. Mine lasted less than a month. Replaced it with a generic 5 pack made in China which are much better. The lid cannot be rotated. This is not a big deal, but other models allow this. The lid as slots in it to pour, which releases heat. Normally, with other models, you might want to rotate the lid while it's brewing to seal on the heat. Overall, it works, and I recommend it, but only if you're on a budget. ... show more

I bought this 32oz Bodum French Press as a fun little project to see if I could make coffee that was a little better and see if my wife and I could actually tell the difference. We CAN tell the difference and it’s great! The coffee is noticeably smoother and richer and maybe even a little less acidic. The only downside is it takes me 10 to 15 minutes to make coffee this way rather than the five minutes it takes me with a coffee machine. So I’ll usually just use the French press on the weekend when I have more time and I make several batches of coffee all at once, which I store in mason jars in the refrigerator and then the next few mornings I just grab one jar to make my wife and I coffee, which is ready for a cold brew or I can microwave for hot coffee. I’ll probably eventually buy a bigger French press to make my batch brewing faster. From this 32oz press, we get enough coffee to fill 1 mason jar or fill 2 tall YETI style coffee cups. ... show more
