I received this product on Oct, 8. After opening the package reading the directions I applied this product to several locations within my puppy's area. Whereupon the two Rugrats where around licking every location that i applied this product. Now thinking it was just a fluke I applied it to my finger and put it in front of their face whereupon they started licking and trying to chew on my finger. Trying it a second time on my opposite hand after it dried I attempted the same thing. Apparently my dogs love this stuff because it didn't work either. Attempting a refund now ... show more

I was recommended this product by our dog trainer. He used it during class to stop barking and biting. I assume the taste is terrible by the look on my pup's face. I used it once at home to curb her biting (worked) and the next time she starting biting, I only needed to take the cap off the bottle and she stopped the behavior completely. I now own a full bottle and have a happy well-trained gal. Thanks Bodhi! As shown in the photo, just putting the bottle on the dishwasher door keeps her from coming near it to lick the dishes!! ... show more

Great for deterring puppy from chewing on pretty much ANYTHING. I sprayed this on the corners of my kitchen cabinets, area rugs, etc. Worked immediately. I applied this product about 5 days ago and have not needed to reapply. So far no damaging affects on surfaces that I applied it to. I would recommend this product. It is appropriately POTENT, which is why it works so well. In fact, I tasted it and the bitterness lingered for over an hour even after drinking hot tea to get rid of the taste. ... show more

I have Boston Terriers. Long story short, the pups try to kick their dad's butt. I had successfully used Bitter Apple spray in the past to make dogs stop fighting. I decided I would try this product. Sadly, when once again the boys attacked their dad I jumped into action and pointed the nozzle into their mouths and sprayed and sprayed. You have to be careful not to get it in their face, and the spray nozzle only mists, so you basically have to put it in their mouths. Nothing. They just kept tearing each other up like I gave them a drink of water. And they busted the top off, so 7/8 of the bottle dumped on the floor. I managed to get them corralled and kennelled and decided to taste the stuff myself. Put some in my hand, dipped a finger tip, put it on ny tongue... oh my. It is awful. It is absolutely horrible. I have no idea how my dogs weren't deterred by it. And it lasts for a good 20 minutes even after rinsing constantly. So, once you get it on a surface, it's staying there for a while. I imagine this product works fine to deter dogs from mild licking caused by boredom, OCD, and bandaged wounds, but it doesn't phase fighting dogs unfortunately. ... show more

This is useless. Dog trainer sprayed my hand down with her bitter apple spray when puppy got mouthy to teach him no and it worked immediately he hated the taste and stopped mouthing immediately. She suggested I get some too to use at home. Ordered this and he loves the taste. It also smells very different than what the trainer has. This smells like straight alcohol. Very disappointing ... show more

We have friends with a 9 month old pit / terrier mix who is an aggressive chewer. He has chewed up wood frames around doors, legs on chairs, you name it. They purchased a new dog house for him and he started chewing on it, too. Purchased this product with the hopes it would do what it said - and the dog loves the taste (that's why we gave it a 5 star rating on flavor - he loved it!). We adopted a 3 YO dog. He's not one to chew on the furniture much but I noticed the legs of one of our TV room chairs attracted him. This product clearly makes the chair leg less attractive to him. I thought we’d give this a try because it was cheaper and shipped faster than another type of bitter apple spray that we’ve been using. However, it does not work nearly as well. Our dog loves to chew pillows and blankets and she was not phased at all by this spray. Kept on chewing. And it makes the whole room smell like rubbing alcohol which other bitter sprays do not.
