UPDATE: Reports of difficulty connecting to phone Bluetooth are accurate. Biggest tip is use the QZsmart app (scanning the QR code was problematic for me as reader kept going to wrong app while searching android play store didn't find the app either) and be on a 2.4Gz network with your phone (also problematic as I forget my 2.4G extender password). But once resolved setup was fairly easy. The app is intuitive and biggest advantage is being able to monitor the cooler while driving to make sure it is working properly in in the cargo area where you can't just glance at it. Otherwise, you might get an unwelcome surprise when you stop somewhere only to find out the cooler was not working. I tested the cooler immediately after delivery with the assumption that the cooler was only transported in the upright position, so maybe these test results are skewed if the refrigerant needs to settle. After 30 minutes on house power: The refrigerator section reached the set temperature of 40 degrees (per the led indicator), although the bottle of water inside only felt cool, not cold. The freezer section reached an indicated 33 degrees of the set temperature of 20 degrees. The bottle of water inside was only cool and no where near freezing. After 60 minutes on house power: The refrigerator section maintained the set temperature of 40 degrees and the bottle of water inside felt chilled enough for a refreshingly cool drink. The freezer section reached the 20 degree set temperature. The bottle of water inside was chilled but still along way from starting to freeze. Moved cooler to idling Tacoma truck bed and plugged into the 110V 400W Max / 100W Min bed outlet. After additional 30 minutes (90 mins total) the cooler display read 40/30 degrees. The outside temperature was 80 degrees and the truck was idling in the sun with cab A/C running. The truck bed has a BakFlip4 cover so the cooler was not in direct sunlight. I'm guessing that at driving speeds the outlet would produce higher watts and the cooler would do better. Moved cooler to idling RAV4 and plugged into 12V/120W cargo outlet for another 30 minutes. The outside temperature was 80 degrees and the RAV was idling in the sun with A/C running. After 30 minutes the temperature was 40/20 degrees. Interesting that the cooler did better with RAV4 12V/120W outlet at idle than the Tacoma 110V bed outlet at idle. Maybe due to cargo area getting A/C benefit. Both bottles of water were very chilled at the end of two hours. The water in the freezer was nowhere near freezing but maybe a little colder than the bottle in the refrigerator side. Guessing that freezing will take 5 to 6+ hours. When camping it will run on a 3500W generator or shore power. No error codes were ever thrown. Overall I'm satisfied. We have only had this product for about 2 days. It seems to work well. Things to look for when picking your portable cooler: - How easy is it to move. The wheels on this make it super easy BUT they are plastic and that is what was damaged on ours when it was delivered. - Power supply. We have a Jackery so that is our power supply. If you are going to use it away from other power sources, you may want to invest in a smaller power supply. - How long will it keep it cool with out power. This is being tested as I write this review and I will update this after I run it through my test. - How Quiet is it. This unit is super quiet and seems to work really well. - What happens when you fill it up. How does it perform when items are in the unit preventing the freely moving airflow. This also is what I am testing today. - Space and design. The unit is taller than wider - which is exactly what we are looking for since this is going in our RV. That makes it fit in tighter places for us. Keep that in mind as well. Overall - (other than it coming damaged) I think this is a great unit for the price. It is plastic outside (wheels & handles) - so it is clearly cheaper feeling that other models but it seems to work just as well. My guess is that over time the handles will certainly break if you are not paying attention or are rough with things. Summary - Great product for the price. You can spend more and get a better outside quality but this works for those not wanting to spend $1k on a portable fridge. ... show more

I purchased this refrigerator in October of last year. It was delivered on the 14th. My wife and I were very excited to make this choice because some other brands are more expensive, even though the reviews on this one seem to be mixed in opinion. We never purchased this refrigerator to keep food frozen, only to keep it at proper temperature for camping. But it should get cold enough to do as advertised to freeze food. The refrigerator seem to work OK for keeping food cold in the beginning. But I never did a test on it to see if it would actually freeze or keep food frozen when I first purchased it. This is a lot of money to pay for something that really doesn’t work well. I’ve been running it off and on in our van since that time. I have a dedicated battery system/solar generator to operate it while we are traveling. I have also used it to bring food home from shopping, but not actually to go camping with for which it was it its intended purpose. For the past two days now in February 2022, it seems to take a very long time to get cold. I have been running it since last night so it has been almost 24 hours, and it has still not gotten to the temperature I set it to go to which is 30° or colder. The coldest it seems to get is in the 40s. I have had it set to 30 or less the whole time. I took out the baskets earlier this morning to see if having those chambers open to each other would help it work to get colder faster. Before having the baskets and the divider installed, the larger side would never drop below 60°. This has been a very slow process for this refrigerator. A good amount of warm air comes out the vents as expected. I am now thinking that this refrigerator has some type of problem with how it was manufactured. This is very disappointing considering the price point of over $500. I’m upset & scared to make contact with the manufacturer because of the reviews written that they do not respond! I would say possibly avoid this refrigerator and buy something else even if it cost a few hundred dollars more. Friends of mine that go camping quite a bit always talk about a brand called Dometic. But now I am very upset at the thought that I am going to have to spend money on another brand. This refrigerator made by Bodega has the potential to be a very nice unit. It is well made, and things are easy to understand. I have made all the proper adjustments months ago on the control panel to compensate for voltage input, and how this affects the unit running constantly, instead of shutting off because of F1 low voltage warning. I gotten the F5 code warning in the past which indicates a low voltage situation. You just change the voltage settings to fix that. It’s funny it popped this up even when it’s plugged into the AC outlet today in February. Something is wrong with this unit for sure. I even have changed it from Eco mode, to max power, and it still has a very hard time getting to the temperature you want it to get to. At this point I’m afraid to take it on our camping trip two days from now. I worry that I’m going to lose all my food even though the food will be chilled and frozen. I have a trip planned two months from now that will take my wife and I through three states. I’m thinking seriously of just buying something different. This is so disappointing…. February 15, 2022, UPDATE: (Possible Fix For F-5 Error) I did this: Since the customer service reviews are so horrible, and I’m past the return window I did this. I was able to fix the refrigerator and it works perfectly, even freezes water! The F5 warning is actually overheating of the unit. Not low voltage as I mentioned earlier in my review. Should have done my research! This was the problem. The cooling fan was not working. It was stuck rubbing the condenser coils. I don’t think the fan ever worked because of this. You can check this, maybe it’s a fix for you. This is a common maintenance you need to check with any refrigerator anyway. Put the refrigerator on a bench so the compressor side with the vented panel hangs over to remove it with the screws showing underneath. Of course unplug the refrigerator prior to removing the panel. The power input plug receptacle is connected to that panel. Remove the red and black wires and remember to put them back the same way. Locate the fan and see if it spins free using a pencil by flicking it. If your mechanically inclined you can carefully run the refrigerator before you remove the wires to see if the fan spins. I used a small plastic pry tool to clearance the fan housing from the coils. BE CAREFUL NOT TO DAMAGE THE COILS, or the fan housing. Test run and use compressed air to blow out any dust. Put the cover back on. Test run. I duct taped screen on the inlet side to keep large debris from entering. This is a possibility for those of you with overheating issues.
