I bought a tortilla press and this flour at the same time, just wanted to give both a try to see if I could make them salt free. Both the press and the flour were great. The flour is very fine ground but not to the extremity of corn starch, it was a light yellow and had some darker kernel hull bits here and there just like you see in corn meal. It was free of any lumps or rough bits, mixed easily with the water and salt in the recipe and held it's shape when pressed and toasted in the pan. The bag has a recipe for tortilla dough but I was thinking it would make some delicious hush puppies if the dough was a bit thinner. That may be my next recipe to try out! ... show more

I love making tortillas from scratch, and this is the best masa harina I have ever tasted (I have tried them all). Such a great corn flavor, and the slightly coarser texture is simply the best. They are great soft or fried - resulting in the perfect crunchy shell.
