  • Trim unit
Worked perfect, great craftsman ship

  • Great product but assembly skills required.
The good: Manufacturing quality is excellent! Packaging was good, and quicker than expected shipping. The "could be better": Bottom right bolt is placed too close to the pump assembly to use a socket! Not for the faint of heart installer, tools and willingness to drill into your boat may be required. Mounting directions were not product specific. I bought this to retrofit onto a 2001 Craigcat with a 25hp Mercury with manual trim. The power tilt/trim is discontinued for this motor so aftermarket solutions were necessary. Install was straight forward and took about 2 hours in my driveway. All parts are relatively standard, but end user will need 1/2 stainless steel bolts/washers/nuts x 4 to mount the unit. If you aren't mounting the trim switch onto a console or existing switch box, you may want to consider a different switch arrangement. I utilized an aftermarket 6 switch box on the boat, and the included switch installed easily without modification. The overall travel of this product is great! ... show more

  • When it finally came, it was great
We had to order this item twice, as Bob's cancelled the first order, then raised the price. Paying the higher price the order went through.

  • pretty easy to install
the jackplate works perfect for my 40 Yamaha. goes up and down fast and is perfect for getting more speed and running more shallow. only thing I would change is the how they don't leave room to tighten the clamps on the motor.

  • Nice unit! but Make sure!
The media could not be loaded. installed on Carolina skiff JV15. make sure when you install that the stearing will clear when turned all the way out. and also make sure clamps will not hit transom when tilted all way up. The cavitation plate on motor should be a 2-3 inches above bottom of the boat this is because the motor is moving back 6 inches. Well built hydraulic unit! ... show more

  • Highly disappointed
This should have been an easy upgrade to my old non-tilt outboard but it was not. I mounted this plate as per-instructions, and the outboard is too high above the bottom of the boat. It should be about 2” however it ended up being 4”. When I contacted Bob’s machine they agreed that I installed the plate correctly, but pretty much didn’t have an answer as to why my outboard was so high. They also stated even though this was marked on Amazon as up to 40hp it is only rated for 30hp. Anyway, I tossed out the instructions and I got the outboard down where it needed to be, but only after having to drill more holes in my boat and more holes in the tilt plate. This was very frustrating given the price of these tilt plates. Now after this installation debacle, the plate functions great and plenty strong enough for the 40hp. ... show more

  • Great product and easy installation.
We purchased this lift and installed it on a Ray electric outboard motor on a pontoon boat. It was a perfect fit all around.
