I had a Thuma and it was BEAUTIFUL but pricey. I decided to return it while I still could since I had an adjustable bed with legs anyway so I didn't really need a bed base. Told myself I would one day get a Thuma again but I just can't justify the price. I considered the Valyou Charm bed then found this on Amazon and Wayfair. I really wanted the Black but the Natural went on sale for $168 so I snatched it while it lasted. It's well packaged and very well made. Not sure why some reviewers have had a problem with quality. The Natural is too yellow though. In fact, it looks like Bamboo. Hate the color. I should have just paid more for the Black. Oh well. This is the reason for 4 stars instead of 5. This was by far the easiest piece of furniture I have ever put together. It took me longer to get everything unpacked than it did to put it together. With that said, everything was well packed and a lot of thought was put in to the packaging. It arrived on time and without a scratch. The quality is amazing for the price! I bought it for the spare room but considering using it for myself. It’s one of my favorite pieces of furniture. This was the easiest bed frame I’ve ever put together. Solid wood. Beautiful. Simple. The only downside was it came damaged, but I was still able to put it together without any issues. The broken piece isn’t noticeable since it’s against the wall.

After months and months of browsing and reading reviews I settled on this solid wood bed frame. I waited 2 weeks for it to arrive and was so excited today when it was delivered. Let me 1st say this is solid wood. It’s very heavy. It was meticulously packaged & the package and all packaging was in good condition. Upon unraveling I found the split wooden beam. It’s not just split, it’s also bowed in so that the other piece wouldn’t even fit into the slot. Needless to say it’s getting returned and my search will continue. I caution any buyer to this issue because I did read previous reviews that had this same issue. It’s a shame because this frame is very strong and beautiful. ... show more

I giggled when the illustrations displayed clock time with 2 persons for 45 minutes. I am 71 yrs of age & alone & I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. Clear & precise instructions.     • chances are you will stub your toe on this bed's legs.
Wood is engineered such that numerous pieces of wood are glued together and then cut to form each "board". We got the natural color, and it is very yellow in tone. A darker finish would make the patchwork wood less obvious. The big issue is how far the legs sit beyond the mattress. Your eye follows the mattress to orient you in space, but the frame legs sit out 4-6 inches beyond the mattress. It is a set up for banging into them. ... show more

The bed is flimsy but I put it together anyway and as soon as I sat down on it it cracked in half and I only weigh 145 pounds. This is a piece of junk. Get the real thing if you want Japanese joinery this is just garbage on top of it Amazon came to pick it up and I left the packaging outside and they just left it on my porch. I’m not buying from people who keep bringing garbage into our towns and don’t pay the towns to get rid of it properly. Get a quality item skip these knock offs it’s a waste not only of your time and money but of the entire planet ... show more
