Top Amazon Reviews

  • Overpriced for what you get in terms of sound. Don't believe the reviews.
TL/DR: - If your audio source does not have a way to EQ the sound then pass on these immediately. - The sound quality is very muddy. - There's better options out there. So most people will write a review with statements like "i am not an audiophile". Well I am, but I am not an audiophile with an endless budget so I like to found the best sound per dollar there is and this is not them. I was traveling for work and needed something to take with me to play with keyboards/drum machines at my work destination. Thus I typically take my small portal Klipsch pro 2.1 setup which might be 15yrs old in terms of when it came out but for that size I don't think you can find anything better sounding. Now the Klipsch pro 2.1's have the dumbest pin connecter for the audio and known junky fuse's and eventually died so thus I had to get on amazon and get somethin temporary to replace them. I did not want to go over 100.00. I stumbled on these , read the reviews and figured i'd try them. I paid around 90.00 so keep that in mind. Packaging: This was fine. I saw lots of comments about speakers coming destroyed, etc. They were packaged well enough and you can't blame the speaker makers for ups kicking around your package Setup: Easy enough, Took a minute to get the BT part working but it all works. Exterior Quality: good enough.. Wasn't expecting much for 90 and they are on par with that Power: I am thinking these are on par with their advertised rating of 40w. That should be more than enough if the speaker has a decent sensitivity rating, but I am not sure what that is as it was not in the details. Sound: OK so this is where the 2 stars come off for me. I kept reading all these comments about "room filling bass" and "wow these sound amazing".. I think there's a couple things going on here. I don't think these are fake comments. I just think these are folks that have always had just really cruddy desktop speakers and then got these and were like ...woah..more db's. I seriously have no idea how these are crossed over at, but whatever they chose its horrible. The bass people are hearing is a very muddy bump in the frequencies between 100-250hz.. It's awful and this is where a lot of the mud is. Once I EQ'd that down to reasonable levels you could still tell that these were just cheap speakers. There is 0 punch in the 5" woofer, and don't say "well it's only 5 what are you expecting". I have 5" elac's at home that bass so punchy you feel like you are standing in a club filled with funktion one subs. They are just cheap'ish. What stinks is that the cabinet is probably sized right. It's just the speakers are crud. Also not sure why they ported them on the front. Seems like most people might have these on their desk with a wall behind and a rear port might help with some of the sub bass. I tried and tried to EQ these speakers just to get a descent sound. It's the weirdest looking EQ setting I have ever done. The high's are just ok on these speakers as well. They are pretty flat, but not like flat like studio monitors (ns10's) just flat as in cheap. I am guessing you could probably swap these speakers out with some better ones from parts express, but at that point you should have just got a whole better set. These speakers should be 50.00. They'd be just ok enough for a patio set or something like in your garage. I wasn't expecting B&W's for 90.00 but at least something that sounded better than these. Edifier aren't much better. If you are in this market, i'd try to get your hands on a good set of the klipsch pro 2.1's and just understand that their life span is typically 5-10yrs. Or spend a little more and get a separate amp and some elac's or something else, but then your budget is getting into the 400-500.00 range. Hope that helps. ... show more

  • All around good for the price
A good set of speakers for the price. Plenty loud but my only complaint it there us just a bit too much bass in them and there are no bass/treble adjustments on the speakers. If you have a preamp with bass/treble controls you'll probably be alright. If you streaming music to them you'll have to use tone control via your streaming app to tone the bass down. ... show more

  • Very Good with One Major Flaw
I bought these speakers with the intention of making a review and because they appeared to be a possible great value. At the time of my purchase they were around a hundred dollars, shortly thereafter they were offering twenty dollars off. These speakers look the part with the soft dome tweeters as well as a subwoofer output, which was the primary decision I chose these to review. Since I'm sure you can read the specs provided, I'll give you the additional ones that may or may not be in the description. 4" midrange/woofer 1" soft dome tweeter RCA/3.5mm/Optical/Coax/BT inputs Subwoofer Output Rated 36x2 Output Power I'll be honest and up front. The sound of these speakers is not bad and for the intended audience, I'd say these sound fine. For the price, you should not expect miracles. I have a device called the Amp Dyno for measuring output power from amplifiers. I was eager to find out the "true" power of these speakers. My measurements are posted below: RMS Power at 1kHz 8 ohms - 15W x 2 at 1% THD 4 ohms - 28W x 2 at 1% THD The speakers are 4 ohms, so the 4 ohm measurement is what you should care about. Not quite the 36x2 rating, but not too far off. Some people will say the included power supply is not large enough to provide this much output, but my tests show the power supply delivered 4A even though it's rated at 2A. Now on to the major flaw....it's the pop sent over RCA to the subwoofer when using the sub line output. It's not only a turn on, but also a turn-off pop. SaiYin should've added a relay to silence this as it could potentially damage your connected subwoofer. Too bad! Sound quality with the Polk Audio PSW10 added was awesome. Full and dynamic. But then if you turn off the speakers "POP" goes the subwoofer. The other concern is the functions of the speaker system are reliant on the included wireless remote control. If you lose the remote, you can't switch inputs. There is no manual volume control or input selection on the speakers themselves. This can be a problem as the remote is small and losing it is inevitable. Overall very good speakers for the money and as I stated before perfect for the 95% who just want better sound from their TV or bluetooth device (cell phone, tablet, etc). If the subwoofer output worked without the pop, I would've given these a 8.5/10. However, knowing the subwoofer out is a great feature you won't be able to use, I'd give them a 7/10. ... show more

  • Basic But GOOD!!
THESE TO ME ARE LIKE NO-FRILL SPEAKERS WRAPPED IN NICE WOOD ENCLOSURES. THE SOUND QUALITY, THE REMOTE IS BARE BONES, AND BASICALLY A NO FRILLS BUT GOOD SPEAKERS. FOR THE MONEY YOU WON'T FIND BETTER.

  • After a few weeks
First off I got the speakers without the Mic Jack, which also does NOT have the Treble and Bass knobs on the side. Word of advise... Spend the little extra and get that set, it will be worth it for 90+% of people. Product came on time, packaged well and overall fit and finish is good. These speakers can get very loud before the distortion becomes to much. They are also very bass heavy and weak on the treble. I bought these to use as Bluetooth speakers mostly and they are absolutely fantastic as such. I run my music through an EQ app (I have 2, a basic and an advanced). I got amazing sound with some minor adjustments using just the basic app, expect to HAVE to do this without out the adjusting knobs. I've run a TV and video game system through them and I just can't make enough adjustments to make the sound great with these devises. Good, decent even, but not great. Still... I didn't buy them for that so not complaining. Overall they are well made with great sound quality, especially on the low end. ** A word to the company... You should consider selling just the adjustable style and improve the high frequency. ... show more
