What follows is a first impression review. Will update after I have used the light for at least two runs amd have done PAR measuremnet with my Apogee 520. The light is built ok and has quite a nice design, but you will find small imperfections when you look up close and plastic used in places where metal would have been better for heat dissipation. If you are used to big name brands (Fluence, HLG, Volaya, etc) dont expect the same build quality, but not so bad as other budget friendly lights found here on Amz. The light works well, no flickering or strange noises after two hours on 100% setting. Does get a bit hot for just 100 watts compared to my other leds set at the same 100 Watts. The diodes are coated, which I dont recall being mentioned anywhere on the posting of the product, and I wasnt interested in any form of coating, specially if not specified what type it is. Some like coating, I dont. Everything comes really well packed and nothing was missing.. No typos anywhere and instructions are quite clear. It does worry me that the company doesnt have a website and the contact email is a "...@hotmail" account. Based on all the above and other possitve things I found but dont remember right now, my first impression review would result in 3 or 3.5 stars, BUT Im giving only 2 stars because I'm not sure the Samsung diodes are genunine LM301B's or actually LM301B or another reference (maybe they are LM301 but not D or H) or another brand, and I think this weighs immensly on how good the light will be and on how fair the price is. I've got other LEDs with 301B and 301H diodes that I know are genuine (eg HLG lights) and they just look different. Also, some diodes seem crooked, and also note that additional to the red diodes, there are two types of "yellow" diodes, but neither really seem exactly the same to genuine diodes. I hope the photos I posted are clear enough for those who can tell the difference in diodes. I also hope I'm wrong. I got this light with a 20% discount (about 108 bucks). Not a bad price if diodes are genuine, and awsome for beginners or as a backup light. But, If not genunie or not really 301B diodes, not a good deal. I really dig the design though. ... show more
