This motion light was exactly what I was looking for. Multiple lighting levels of brightness and user functions. Installed my light fixture at the top of basement stairwell and turned on the motion feature and the sensor is able to detect motion from several feet from the bottom of the stairwell. Simply leave the light fixture on and as you approach the fixture it will automatically turn on and off (think there were 2 to 3 selectable time options for how long the light will stay on after you walkaway). My only complaint it the actually length or (lack there of) of the attached wire harness. The attached wire harness on the fixture was approximately 4" long this extended my install to about 45 min. because there wasn't enough wire for my manly fingers to grip on and fit between the ceiling and the fixture. I purchased to put above my walk in shower so the the light would only come on when someone was taking a shower and not stay on. So far so good. It was easy for my husband to install took about 5-10 min. Been working great and the price was the best. Alos has different time settings/ how long you want it to stay on and brightness. As some previous reviews have noted, the supplied wiring is too short to the point that it interferes with the ability to accomplish the installation. Adding 5 or 6 inches to the length of the wires would help a lot. I spliced in some pigtails to complete the installation. (minus 2 stars) I also modified the field of view of the motion sensor by covering part of it with a piece of black tape. Mine is mounted in a doorless closet adjacent to a bathroom. This modification was necessary to prevent the light from coming on when I am using the bathroom in the middle of the night. This is not a fault in the design. I am sure it is designed to provide maximum range of motion detection. That just happened to be more range than I desired. Brightness is excellent, lights up the entire closet (about 4ft by 10ft) when I walk in. ... show more

Needed a light that would turn on simply via motion in order to replace a pull chain light, and this one totally fit the need. Super easy to install and use. Highly recommend.
