I has very good viewing for distance but the motion detection distance isn't as good. Up close on a windy day, it was detecting our ceiling fan turning. But at 25 ft it wouldn't detect me walking.

adding this as a second location, love that they can be included in one account, one annual fee. These are a newer version, than the one I have installed at my house, and they are interoperable, gen 3 and 4. I'm running both with jump drives installed in the sync modules because I carry a Wi-Fi-hot-spot between the house and cabin. Works okay until I get full time Wi-Fi at the cabin. I still get video, like a trail cam, from the cabin when I'm not (no hot-spot) there. just no doorbell alerts, if anyone every rang the door bell ;-) ... show more

After several days of back and forth with customer service I finally caved in and gave a third form of verification to just enable the system. After mounting the cameras and doorbell the only thing I can do is view the live feed for a few seconds. I purchased the USB memory stick for local storage and it doesn't do a thing. I get motion alerts but that's it. No recordings, nothing. When I select live view it takes 30+seconds to see an images that's 6-7seconds old. I'm not sure how this system is supposed to be useful in any circumstance. Update: The blink system requires constant router and *Internet* connection to function at all, even if you do not have a subscription and want to record local only. To use the system you must create a blink account that requires an email address and an active phone number. I mention this not only because it would have kept me from wasting my time with this purchase, but because these are all unadvertised costs required to use this system, and for me they add up to nearly $2000 a year ($1440 internet, $540 phone) not including electricity usage for the router, phone and sync module. It all adds up. Definitely not worth the expense for a few seconds of delayed live stream one camera at a time with no recording. Update part 2: After several hours of resets and following the troubleshooting guides offered from blink support. My sync module will not connect to the dedicated router I purchased for the system.
