Before this I had a very expensive, name brand camera. It did us well for 4 1/2 years until the antenna snapped off. My son is getting older, so a camera isn't REALLY necessary anymore, but I found myself still wanting to watch when he first goes down, and early in the morning if I wake up before he does. So I started searching for a replacement when I came across this one. It had (almost) everything I was looking for but was skeptical.. there weren't a lot of reviews, all 5 stars. Though they are "verified" I have come to not always trust that as I have seen identical "verified" reviews on different products in the past. (Not on this one but like I said, skeptical). I also tried searching for other reviews elsewhere on the internet and didn't really come up with anything.. but for $70 (on sale) for 2 cameras and large monitor though I figured I would take the chance anyway. Worst case scenario I return it. Best case scenario I got a steal. Well, it has only been a few days now but I thought I would leave an honest review to help others finding themselves in a similar position. If anything changes, I will edit my review. It works, the cameras connected with no problem. The picture quality is a bit fuzzy, especially compared to the name brand one we had for so long, but I can see well enough. The quality kind of reminds me of the pictures you would take on your cell phone in 2006. Clear, but not crisp. Night vision works with similar quality. It works for me, I can see if he's awake and I can tell if he is ok or not. There is no zoom function, and the picture is the equivalent of the name brand monitor zoomed in. But again, I can see him just fine where I have it set up so thats all that matters to me. But just be warned it will be tricky to set up and have a clear view of the whole room. But as of now those are really the only down sides to this monitor, which don't really make a difference to me since it does not hinder me in any way from what my intentions are with it. What I am pleasantly surprised about is that there are actually a couple things I like better with this set than the name brand one. The monitor is twice the size, so even though its a little fuzzy I can still clearly see the picture even from a distance (for example, I have it sitting on a counter and I'm on the other side if the kitchen making coffee or something. I can look over and still see hes sleeping, which I couldn't with the other.) The other day I set up the second one in the living room while I went out to shovel the driveway. Doing the first half I was able to have the monitor sitting on something and I could hear and still see him. As I started the second half, closer to the road I put the monitor in my pocket so I could atleast still hear him. This brings me to the second thing I am impressed about with this monitor. With the name brand one I could barely get out the door outside without losing signal. In fact, the old one was so finicky with signal I would randomly lose it constantly no matter how close or far I was, even before the antenna started to get loose and eventually snapped off, never mind going outside with it (another plus btw, it doesn't have an external antenna so no worries of this one snapping off! Lol). Not once, even with it in my pocket, not even when I went across the street to clear my mailbox, I did not lose signal. The last thing that surprised me with this monitor is the microphone feature. With my name brand one, if I wanted to talk to him and hit the button it would mute the sound from his room while I was holding it. But I discovered that that is not the case with this one. I can still hear him talking even if I'm holding the microphone button which makes it a little easier to actually have a conversation with him that way if I need to. The range of how far the camera can turn is also impressive and actually exceeds the name brands abilities. This setup works perfect for us and our needs and was exactly what I was looking for. The picture isn't the best, and how zoomed in it is makes it difficult and sometime impossible to get a full view of a room, but not a deal breaker in the least. The areas that this actually exceeds the more expensive one more than makes up for where it lacks, including it coming with TWO cameras that I can view in a split screen if I choose where as the other only came with one. If you are in a similar position as me, or new parents on a budget, or anywhere in between I would certainly suggest this set up. For the price it can't be beat. It took several attempts to get both cameras to connect to the monitor. One connected immediately, but the second took several attempts. As usual, minimal, lacking instructions. As previously reviewed by others, these cameras need to be recalibrated (by mfgr) to zoom in/out more with more clarity. When cameras are placed across the average room from the target, the person/baby is very close, too close. I use mine to monitor my 92 y/o mother suffering from dementia. Her bedroom is 10x12. It is hard to find a location for the camera where I can pan from her recliner to her bed without being too close, or objects blocking the view, etc. A positive is that she does not hear the camera moving when I track her. Cords are lengthy enough for average placement. Warning tags on cords are next to cameras and monitor instead of down low near plug-in ends. I guess I will cut them off due to unsightliness in plain view. Picky? Lol... Monitor has minimal settings. Screen is lower quality/more blurry in different light settings, but clear enough to see what is going on. Night view not great, I'm glad I'm not monitoring a baby and I don't keep the monitor in my room during overnight usually, unless we are away from home together. Sound is sufficient, but again, a young mother may disagree if she wants to hear the baby breathing. The mic two-way communication sound is a little lacking for my hard-of-hearing mother. It is fine for me. I wish it had an "alarm" notification when she stands up to walk or something the way motion cameras do. I use the second camera in different rooms as needed, for safety reasons and sound to observe if she fell, as needed. Monitor battery seems to be long life at times, shorter at others. I don't need it with me constantly, since she's not a baby. Also, I do have a camera in her room that I can monitor on my phone app if I leave the house. I do like the radio type connection of this monitor/camera system that is not hackable the way wifi cams can be if not properly secured. For my use, it is sufficient. We love this monitor for the price point- so much we even bought it twice because our first one screen broke somehow we don’t know, but assume one of our toddlers dropped it. This time we bought the protection plan. I also would say that this doesn’t have a simple “turn off video” button so at night I just have to cover the screen with a light. It has a Vox mode where it only lights up when there is noise detected but I’d rather have peace of mind of a steady audio all night so I haven’t used the Vox mode. ... show more

I love that this is a monitor only it isn’t an app that can be hacked! The battery lasts a long time and the range is decent so I can be outside hanging out with friends and still be able to see her without it glitching! I have this plus a vitals sock so I can see if she is okay!

I love that it is very clear and the image is great. I wish I could hear at least 1 of the cameras when both videos are displayed. It is silent. Also I wish the volume has buttons instead you have to go through menu. Overall I would recommend for the price

i like that there is a setting to automatically flip back and forth between rooms. sound is clear, image is fine for what i need it for.. the battery doesn't last over night if i forget to put the screen to "sleep", so i just leave it plugged in by my bad overnight while its on..

We have had this camera system for a week or so now after our more expensive one stopped working . I am very glad we purchased this one it’s more affordable and has worked great. After figuring out the settings it works perfect . Picture qualify and sound are great. I love the option to have to scan between each of the rooms every 10 seconds and you can hear that room. Due to when it’s in split screen mode you can see both rooms but can’t hear either one. ... show more
