  • Really helped me save some money.
I have a Grand Cherokee that was throwing codes sporadically, making it difficult to stop in a shop to get them pulled. The dash did give a little info but not enough to diagnose the issue. With this reader it gave me the actual codes and suspected component. Mine came out to be the transfer case control module. Something that has two plugs and took less than five minutes to swap out. This saved me shop feed and labor for sure. Then shortly after this fix my old TJ threw a code on a cold day. It pulled the code and gave me the specific sensor with the issue. This gave me the info needed to investigate which turned out to be a common issue on real cold starts. So with the reader I cleared the code and have not had an issue with things having warmed up. The reader is fairly easy to use and pairs easy to my phone. One thing I notice is what the phone shows is not always the full description given on the reader. So I just take a picture of the reader in that instance. ... show more

  • This is a handy little device. Impressive.
I used to own an automotive repair shop. I've bought the expensive scanners. I have them In Kansas City. The other day up in N. Idaho, I was driving my motorhome and the check engine light came on. I could have gone to the local parts store and scanned it but I thought why not try a hand held scanner. I read about them and this one seemed to offer more than I would ever need and it was still inexpensive. I received it yesterday at my location and I have to say I'm impressed. It does not require reading a phone book to get going with it. In fact, within 15 minutes of opening the box, I knew what had triggered my check engine light, and how to fix it (part of the package you get with this tool). PO1131 B1S1 which is the upstream bank one O2 sensor, constantly reading lean and not switching. Impressive little tool. I never replace a part without first checking the basics (for a vacuum leak) and having the exact same code set 3 times before I'll consider condemning a part. The reason I chose this scanner (the 440) over the less expensive ones is the live stream data. I can watch my O2's data stream live and measure the readings while checking for any vacuum leaks - LIVE. By introducing propane or carb cleaner around any intake ports on bank one, if I see a spike in readings, I'll know it's not the sensor and I have a vacuum leak to fix. I can't do that at the parts store. ... show more

  • Easy To Use!
I recently got a new car, a 2008 Suzuki sx4, with a few issues to fix up for my 1.5 HR commute to work, it has a check engine light m, and this past week my current daily driver my 2015 Subaru legacy got a check engine light. I ordered this device this past Sunday, and it was delivered promptly on Tuesday. When I got back from work, I ran the scanner on both cars, it’s compatible with just about any vehicle that has an OBD2 port. It gave me all the information to easily locate the area of the issues in both vehicles, making it easy for me to resolve both vehicles issues promptly! ... show more

  • Bigger better screen
I recently purchased a Blocktec scanner. The smaller version of the same tool. Unfortunately I felt the screen was to small and I know the type size would be to small for my 66 year old eyes. Even with my glasses on. So, without a hitch I returned it. I did purchase the upgraded larger size. Way better. I felt the Bluetooth capability was the way to go. So many extra benefits. Apparently they added another button too. I haven’t used it yet but, it has a lot of great reviews. I recommend the 440 over the smaller version. Spend the few extra bucks you won’t be disappointed. • Easy to use
I’m not a real big tech guy. This unit is easy to use. It’s got a lot more features than I needed to check a code. I would recommend this unit.
