Sure to garner a lot of attention when on display in your home, the BladesUSA Fantasy Medieval Battle Axe with Display Plaque (model HK-079A) has a dual headed axe is made in the fashion typically associated with a fantasy-themed battle axe -- though it is smaller in stature and made to hold effectively in one hand. The axe-head is double-bladed, with twin blades extending out of either side of the haft in a fairly typical crescent-blade design. The cap of the haft is set with a four-flanged topper, designed for extra weight and design. The haft is near equal parts stainless steel and black finish, with two bands of spike-studded steel as decoration, while the wire-wrapped grip provides all the leverage and security needed for holding the weapon. This two-bladed axe comes complete with a display plaque. The axe measures 21-inches overall.

I bought this to be a part of a barbarian Halloween costume. This isn't a toy, and it isn't really just costume quality. This axe is heavy, solid, sharp and a beautiful piece. I suspect that the real barbarians of their day never had anything like this to rely on. its a small axe, of course, seems to be very durable and the handle is great, there is a small wiggle on a wooden part, that's about it tho,m for a decoration it does not matter much, easy to hang, just 2 screws, comes with protections which I have put on in case of an earthquake because my gods sleep around it, that's about it! ... show more

    • Well-made, very sharp, stylish, and a decent price
I bought this for a friend's birthday - he's a big devotee of medieval history. He was very pleased, telling me at length about how this was an "axe" not "ax" because it was "double-bearded", and so on, to a point well beyond my interest in knowing. Suffice it to say, a discerning recipient very much approved. I got a chance later on to see and pick up the axe (having it been shipped directly to the recipient when purchased). It was surprisingly heavy...basically this is a chunk of metal. The metal braid grip was an interesting feature. My friend had kept the guards on the blades because as he said, it was very very sharp. Seriously, this thing could do a heck of a lot of damage. It comes with a mounting fixture so you can mount the axe on the wall, presumably next to your shield, and thus be always ready... ... show more

    • Good prop axe, don't expect durability when used against other metal
I bought this for around $30 as a prop for a short film I was making. It was used in a fight scene against an equally cheap katana. Throughout practice, and a dozen or so takes, it sustained some decent damage. The top bit was knocked clean off, and there's nicks all down the blade. However, it never fully broke, and looked great during the scene itself. It performed about as expected, and for the price, it seems like a good choice. product came in a box with formed fit Styrofoam around the Axe. This box was in a larger box with paper packing, it arrived in perfect condition. It is heavy for its size of about 20 inches long and very well made. Blade is sharp and made of metal about an 1/8 inch thick it has plastic tubing covering the edges to prevent cutting until you remove them. Really nice its what I have been looking for a long time and will make a great display piece the wall mount is really nice also.. ... show more

Wow!!! I wasn't sure what to expect for $30. When I first got it the ONLY bad thing was there is a picture on the cover of box and styrofoam was in millions of pieces. Now, I have to figure out how to gift wrap it. Besides that this is solid! It's pretty heavy to. You could really use this as a battle axe if you had to. Also, it would be perfect for a Zombie Apocalypse. The feel and look of this axe made me want to get one for myself. Thinking of just buying the Christmas Auction person I drew a gift card so I can keep this one. If you want museum quality go waste your money on a different one for $500-$1000 and then you may not get an axe quite as nice as this one. Trust me on this cause I'm a very picky person.     • Incredible Axe (Though Smaller Than It May Seem)
I bought this axe purely for indulging my medieval weapon obsession, and was pleasantly surprised when it came. The axe is incredibly well-built, sturdy, and sharper than I expected. It became obvious very quickly that this was not just for decoration purposes like many of my other weapons, if so desired. The only complaint I may have is that the axe was much smaller than I had anticipated, although I will not take off stars since I was the one who didn’t check the dimensions.
