This is the second blackout cover that I have used and I am still impressed! My room is no longer an oven, nor do I need sunglasses to enter anymore. The velcro attaches easily to the sills and can be hidden by the curtains when I (rarely) take the cover down. I anticipate a little Goo Gone will work nicely if I ever need to remove the velcro patches. The set comes with a measuring tape and scissors, which I did not use, but will find something to use them on. Hands down, a product that actually does what it says!

I don’t need these blackout curtains to be permanent. And I certainly don’t want black Velcro to be permanently affixed to my white dining room window frames. I already had some tension curtain rods that fit my south facing windows. I quickly and easily, sewed up this fabric to make simple shades to block harsh summer heat coming in. This fabric and the curtain rods are a marriage made in heaven for those 100-degree days. There was enough fabric for my smaller, two side windows sections. I’ll have to buy more of this fabric for my wider middle window section. When these shades are not in use, they easily roll up for storage in my buffet drawer. The additional measuring tape and cutting blade are a nice bonus to this set. I will use the Velcro and sticky dots for other uses in my home. Nothing goes to waste!

It's basically a piece of material that you cut and set-up to fit the window that you are covering. The quality of the material is great and very effective. They provide the necessary tools, including a tape measure, the double sided tapes and a tool for cutting the cloth. It would be great if they offered custom sizing, seeing as nothing is assembled beforehand anyway I love the packaging

This blackout material is the DIY version of a miracle, no drills, no hardware, no commitment issues. You just cut it to size, stick it where you need it, and suddenly your room goes from “midday glare” to “midnight calm.” I used it on my sun blasting south window, and it instantly turned my oven of a room into something resembling human comfort. The fabric is thick and feels durable, not like the kind that disintegrates when you look at it wrong. Plus, it actually blocks out the light instead of politely dimming it. I love that I can take it down easily when I want sunshine or when I move it to another room. It even comes with a few bonus tools, like it’s trying to help you feel competent at life. If you’ve got a window that laughs at regular curtains, this stuff will wipe that smirk right off.

The thickness of the window cover is good and it does work to take a lot of the light coming in through the window. It's relatively easy to use because it comes with everything you could possibly need to install it, which is very helpful, so you won't have to look for a measuring tape or something to cut and make adjustments if you need to -- I'd say this is a lot of value and definitely worth it if you're looking for an all-in-one kit for a blackout window cover that works.

I live out in the country in a rural area. BUT now there is a corner store right across the road from me. That means lights, lots of lights at night. I just can't sleep well unless my room is dark! So when I saw this, I ordered it. What I needed is something that can be put on and taken off easily. I can't leave it up all the time because I have a very cold natured dog. During the day she likes to lay in the sunlight that pours into that window. So, I won't block it during the day. This came a couple of days ago and I put it up before I went to bed that night. There's nothing hard at all about putting it up. That night, when I went to bed, I couldn't believe my room was actually dark! I slept better than I have in a while. Overall,this is nice and heavy material that truly does shut out lights. It's easy to put up and take down. It sure does help me to sleep better! I'm very satisfied (and well rested) and recommend.
