The kit comes with everything you need to make blackout curtains, including the fabric, measuring tape and velcro. The fabric is "flowy", so not rigid. I didn't expect that and assumed it would be more like a plastic film. They work great but it is imperative that you measure correctly. My windows are an odd size, and there really isn't anywhere to stick the velcro, so it was a little hard to get the right fit. Also use really good scissors, or you may tear the fabric or cut uneven. Because it is so hot where I live, the adhesive on the velcro failed in a couple areas. But the curtains do block out light and heat, so they serve their purpose. ... show more

I love this curtain it is a large fabric and is completely light proof as long as you make the sheet a little bit bigger then the window to ensure the light doesn’t seep through the sides, the sheet is extremely large so I recommend having somewhere to lay it out and cut it properly it comes with multiple (8) long strips of Velcro with adhesive on both sides you need to cut to size to fit how many you need I do have problems with one corner of mine falling down but I just restick it probably could put another sticky tab up and be fine definitely recommend makes my Room look like night in the day time ... show more

I've been using this product for about a week now and my sleep quality has gone up. I had a hard time finding good scissors so please use scissors when cutting it. I also would say cut a piece that is larger than you would expect. You can always trim it.

I got these blackout shades for my son's college dorm and he cut the large 138" x 57" shade to fit both windows - it worked great. However, the velcro did not stick very well to the wall. Not sure if it was the texture of his wall but they fell down within less than an hour. He was able to figure out a way to make them stick well enough so it'll do for now. The curtains are very thick though and do a good job of blocking out the light, so that's a plus! I also like that you could travel with them or use them in a rental home where you don't want something permanent. ... show more

As for the purposes of blocking out light this does a nice job of that. Comes with all components necessary to get it up and in place, including a cloth measuring tape to get proper size cuts to fit your window. My only gripe is that the opposing side is a reflective silver. Looks kinda trashy from the outside. I would've liked if both sides were black. ... show more
