This thing is AMAZING! My husband currently works night shifts and we needed an easy to way to block out the light in our bedroom without making too many adjustments to our current curtain situation. It blocks out 100% of light and I love that there are different color options. This curtain came with heavy duty velcro strips that are easy to install so you can remove the curtain as needed. I will say that the velcro is industrial strength so it WILL strip paint from the walls if you stick it there. The size I got was too long for my window, but I was able to rotate it and make it work horizontally instead. As a result, I am not using the roller bar that comes with it. The roller bar is one of those that comes in pieces and requires you to put it together and then slip it into the rod pocket. There isn't any mechanism to make it roll up, but they include heavy duty clips that you use to hold the curtain in place when you roll it up yourself. Overall, I'd highly recommend for anyone who needs effective lightblocking curtains that are easy to install. I feel like this would be great for renters, or even for people who travel frequently or need to use it at someone else's house.

These shades do a good job with the basics. The fabric has a nice woven linen appearance, blocks light well, and helps darken a room for sleeping or reducing glare. The no-drill installation is also a major plus, especially if you're renting or simply don't want to put holes in your walls. Where this loses a star for me is the roll-up mechanism. The product description makes it sound more refined than it actually is. Instead of a traditional roller system, the shade is rolled up manually and secured with metal clips that remain hanging from the front. Functionally it works, but aesthetically it looks a bit tacky and unfinished. If you plan to keep the shade partially open during the day, those clips are very noticeable and take away from the otherwise clean appearance. If your goal is simply to install it and leave it fully down most of the time, this may not bother you. However, if you expect the polished look of a true cordless roller shade that opens and closes frequently, you may be disappointed. Overall, it's a decent blackout shade with easy installation and attractive fabric, but the manual clip-style roll-up system is its biggest weakness and something buyers should be aware of before purchasing.

I am a person who needs my room to be as dark as a cave at night to be able to sleep. I have been known to buy the thickest curtains I can find and even layer them to achieve complete darkness. As it is, despite my layering of curtains, there were still 2 windows that needed something more. Then this blackout curtain popped up, and I decided to give it a go. There are a variety of sizes to choose from so be sure your measuring of your window is as accurate as you can make it. The size I chose was as close as possible to match the size of one of my troublesome windows. When the blackout curtain arrived, it came in a box that also included Velcro strips, screws, and a curtain rod that you can put together to hang the curtain from if that's how you roll. I personally find clear tacks to do the job just as effectively without all the unnecessary hoopla. So I installed my new blackout curtain using my tacks and it works beautifully to keep out the sunlight. The material is thick, black on one side and white on the other. The bottom of the curtain has the matching Velcro piece to further secure the curtain if needed. I am super thrilled with this find and will likely get another blackout curtain to fix my other window since this one worked out so well.

I really like this blackout blind. I have one window that gets direct sunlight almost all day, which used to cause my entire house to get hot. This shade has fixed that problem. The installation was simple. After removing my miniblind and thoroughly cleaning the window frame, I just applied the hook and loop tape to the frame. A quick word of warning: the adhesive is very sticky! Because the tape was slightly wider than my window frame, it originally blocked the window from opening. I easily fixed this by using a razor blade to trim away the overhanging material. Once the tape was trimmed, I simply attached the blackout blind to the hook and loop. For the bottom, you just slide the included metal rod into the opening. My window frame was a bit narrow, so I did have to trim the metal rod slightly to get it to fit perfectly inside the frame. Keep in mind that this shade does not roll itself up automatically. It is a manual roll-up design, and it stays in place securely using the provided clips. Overall, it is a highly effective, customizable solution for blocking intense sunlight and heat!

This blackout curtain fit my window perfectly and the material is real fabric. It does black light and is the white color I ordered. It looks good and was easy to apply. However, the adhesive on the back of the Velcro used for wall mounting the curtain will rip paint off of surfaces during removal.
