I recently got these blackout curtains, and I must say I am thoroughly impressed with their performance. These curtains have truly transformed my sleep quality and overall comfort in my bedroom. In fact there was so much material I was able to do two bedrooms. It says the material is polyester but to me it felt more plastic like but didn't smell, which initially concerned me. It also feels durable and is easy to clean, which is a plus. You can easily hide the shade behind some nice fancy curtains or drapes. Even in the brightest of mornings, these curtains effectively block out almost all external light sources. The difference they've made in creating a dark and serene sleep environment is remarkable. I was excited to see how these blackout curtains work. My son is a late sleeper and, unfortunately for him, has a window in his room that lets in lots of light. Though the traditional blinds help keep the light out, obviously there is still light that gets through. Fortunately, this curtain has solved that issue for us. It works excellently in keeping the room dark, not to mention, cooler. I like that it came with the necessary items to install the curtain as well. We do not have curtain rods so the items included for to hang the curtain worked perfectly for our intentions and purposes. I think this blackout curtain would be good for people who want a quick and easy solution that doesn't involve buying a curtain rod and then bringing out the drill and hardware to install it. Or bedroom is in the basement and we have a street light that shines in every night. We were hanging a blanket and had blinds... they were alright but didn't quite keep all the light out and were klunky and not very attractive. Ordered these and they did just what I hoped. I cut them to fit the opening and applied the Velcro strips as instructed. The material is very good quality and does not let any light through (see the attached before and after pics). It would be a little better if there was some more Velcro but we cut the strips in half long way and that helped. Other than that, we are extremely pleased! Highly recommended. ... show more

It definitely blacks out the Sun from coming in LOL. It's very lightweight very thin. No light gets through it that's for sure. It comes with velcro that sticks to the wall and to the curtain to keep it on. Very easy remove and put back on. I like it it definitely does what it says it's supposed to do. The only one thing is that when I open the package it had a funky smell to it. I'm hoping it'll go away once it airs out a bit. Other than that I love it five stars. Definitely recommend it to friends and family. And I'm most likely going to buy a couple more for the other rooms. ... show more

This product does a great job of blocking out the light, but make sure that you know what you are buying. If you think you are getting a blackout curtain that goes on a curtain rod you are going to be disappointed. This product is ideal for a window where a curtain rod won't work or you can't hang one. The fabric is light but sturdy. One side is black and the other side is silver and I think would reflect sunlight and lower cooling bills. I’m so thankful I finally got this!! I live in the city and I have black out curtains for my room already but they aren’t the greatest and I didn’t want to get big ugly ones. Now I have the window cover with my curtains still up so it looks cute but is finally dark! I hung it up right away without any issue, I like that I can easily unvelcro it too and let light in during the day. this is just what I needed, my bedroom window faces the morning sun so being able to sleep in has been nearly impossible, i have tried window tint film and black out curtains but light was always able to get through and wake me up....this is a thick polyester that needs no drilling to install, just use the included strips and it can be installed in a matter of minutes. do yourself a favor and get this if you want a dark room. ... show more
