At home, my bedroom windows are covered with blackout curtains, but sometimes when traveling I will find myself in an Air B&B with just mini-blinds on the windows and I'm awake at the first hint of daylight. Obviously, I'm not going to put up curtains, but I'd like a better solution than hanging a bunch of beach towels over the windows. This was the fix for that. The sheets are lightweight, especially when cut down to regular size, and they include an ample amount of velcro strips for hanging. I covered the bedroom windows with this during my week's stay and was able to sleep late and recover from the jet lag. The velcro came back down without taking any paint off of the window frame. I was so grateful to get a good night's rest after such a long trip.

Our bedroom window faces the water and during the day time , since my husband works during the midnight hours, his naps are important without light disturbances. Usually he wears an eye mask to sleep, but this helps with that and he doesn’t have to use one. It goes directly onto the window glass. You have a Velcro double sided taped adhesive tabs you use to apply them onto the glass. I did this in sections as the adhesive tabs aren’t really strong enough to only apply to the corners of the shade. This is more of a tarp rather than a shade. It’s very thin, but it does block out most of the light. You’ll want to make sure you have the right measurements of your windows before cutting them down to size if you need to. And little open space and light will get through it, if not applied appropriately by the size of your window glass. The type of adhesive tabs it comes with are Velcro in the middle, so this makes it easy for you to open them and detach the shade from the glass without removing the tape. Overall, it works well enough for the purpose it’s intended for and that’s what matters.

I live in the country where it's normally very dark. Recently, a dang billboard was put up across the street from my house. Now, light from the billboard streams through my bedroom windows at night. I've got blackout curtains in the room, but the light even comes through them. I got this product to totally block the light. After receiving, I think it will work perfectly. I've already cut the material to fit the windows. The material seems to be pretty good quality and made well. Installation is easy, but due to recent surgery, I have a friend who will come and put them up for me. I think the price point is OK - I don't have a reference point though. All I know is I'm ready to block the light out at night and I think this will do the trick. I'm satisfied and recommend.

These are ok, blackout and temporary adhesive and Velcro mounting. They are not thermal though so don’t expect any heat reduction from them. These will be great for travel use though when we need a darker room for sleeping.

These blackout curtains aren't really curtains that go on a rod, but a thin material that is cut to fit your window. Before we installed this product, our old rod based blackout curtains let in light from the top and sides, but not this! The kit itself includes a convenient tape measurer and only took a couple minutes to install. Now the bedroom is super dark and no light seeps in from the sides. I really like the Velcro attachment that allows for easy removal in order to peak out the window when desired. Great product!

These are great, actually. Includes plenty of adhesive pads and better yet, it's cut-to-size! This was a bit larger than my window but I'd planned for that. Better to order an over-sized piece than an under-sized piece, after all. Once the adhesives set, I was able to put this up and totally black out my bedroom, leaving just the floor lamps I have as the remaining light source. Better yet, the room stays nice and cool! And is removable so I can take it down for the winter or what have you.

So these blackout blinds block every ounce of light. Nothing gets through. They are easy to cut (I used a razor blade) and the velcro strips make installation very simple. The problem I ran into is that the listed size is not accurate to what I received. My plan was to use this over the sliding glass door to my master bedroom. I was going to cut it in half and overlap the two pieces. I measured ahead of time and it should have fit perfectly. However, the length on my sheet was 136". Two inches short. I have one inch on each side not covered. :( Obviously this doesn't bode well for a west facing door! They work GREAT at blocking light, are very thin (light weight), and easy to install. Just make sure you aren't planning on getting a full 138". :P

BEST ATTRIBUTE: no tools needed/no curtain rod needed WORST OMISSION/IMPLEMENTATION: full perimeter needs to be secured to block light from creeping around the edges LIKES: effective light blocker DISLIKES: cutting the curtain was challenging (best use blade and straight edge), difficult to hang properly, Velcro adhesive peels up easily at edges, edges of curtain need to be secured all the way around to avoid light leaking in, tedious to hang & remove frequently Comments: This is nice feeling dense material. Light does not penetrate the material itself. It makes a very effective black out shade if you are skilled at measuring and cutting and you do not need to take it down frequently (as if opening/closing a curtain). It is cheaper than curtains that would be this effective, but it would be tedious to apply and remove routinely. They need to include more velcro segments for better perimeter coverage. For these reasons, I would not recommend this for periodic use. Conclusion: If you want to be able to allow for sunshine to come through frequently or even periodically, I cannot recommend this. But, if you need something installed more permanently, this is very effective a blocking the sun. I can recommend this in such settings. Rating: 3 *Unless this review is edited, you may consider these ratings & descriptions to hold during long term use.
