Blackmagic URSA Viewfinder - The essential accessory for handheld shooting! If your project calls for a lot of over the shoulder or handheld shooting, you’ll want to add the Blackmagic URSA Viewfinder. You get a high resolution 1920 x 1080 color display that lets you get incredibly accurate focus and the screen is so sharp that it’s impossible to see any individual pixels so it’s just like using an optical viewfinder on a traditional film camera. The viewfinder can be adjusted for either left or right eye use. Simply plug it into the power and SDI viewfinder output, slide it onto the camera using the Shoulder Mount Kit, then start shooting! The viewfinder features a sensor that turns off the screen when you’re not using it to save power and extend the life of the OLED screen. Blackmagic gear is ok. People on a budget rave about this stuff. But in my opinion most of their gear is hit or miss. Offer a lot of value but has some flaws here and there that justify the low price. When I first bought this I was blown away by the image, because I had never used a optical EVF before. But I let a friend who is a professional DP take a look at it, and the first thing he said was "looks like it has a lot of flicker." Well there you have it. To someone who is just getting into video this is a good product. For someone who makes their living off of video... flicker and maybe other issues. It's good for now. But I quickly hope to out grow all blackmagic gear. ... show more

    • Sharp When Dialed In, not as versatile as it seemed.
As far as EVFs go, this is a really good one. The color is a little green-cast (nothing so extreme you can't manage), the refresh rate is a little "smooshy" and you really gotta crank up the focus peaking on the video feed coming out of the camera to get a full, sharp view out of those 1080p pixels. It's crazy how they managed to do that. I definitely recognize that I'm not an EVF guy (I'm more of a 7-inch on-camera monitor kind of guy), so my opinion is a little biased. The 4 stars is not from my personal lack of appreciation for EVFs in general (I hate when personal subjective opinion drags a review down), but between the color and the sharpness and the form-factor... not as super versatile as it first appears to be! Definitely recommend the Wooden Camera modification for this; I had intended to get the mod myself, but I'd rather just build a magnetic loupe for my 5" or 7" EVF. ... show more

the directions are terrible and you can buy the mini 4k and then you find out there are about 10 other things you need to buy including batteries, memory, lenses and now this viewfinder. After buying this viewfinder there is still apparently no way to mount it, and other hardware to buy. Also there is no handle..where is the stupid handle? ... show more
