Blackmagic Design ups the ante in compact cine-style capture with their Super 35 sensor Pocket Cinema Camera 6K Kit. Not only can the BMPCC 6K record up to 50 fps 6144 x 3456 video, but in a boon to lens connoisseurs everywhere, it features an active Canon EF mount, letting users take advantage of the expansive array of EF-mount lenses available. Turn to the BMPCC 6K to turn one frame into two by cropping a second shot from one frame, to upscale to 8K, or to simply capture rich, detailed footage with your favorite EF-mount lens. The same internal color processing makes it easy to intercut BMPCC 6K with BMPCC 4K footage. Record using the internal CFast 2.0 and SD/UHS-II card slots or output via the USB-C port to capture longer clips to an external drive. The BMPCC 6K includes a DaVinci Resolve Studio license and supports Blackmagic Raw capture from the sensor. This bundle comes with a 64GB Professional 1667x UHS- II SDXC Memory Card from Lexar features a storage capacity of 64GB and takes advantage of the UHS-II bus. 3 years using this camera. Perfect for filmmaking, short films, or Feature Films. Many Sundance winners can tell you so. Best purchase I ever done. UPSIDE: Great color capture Great RAW files, especially in dynamic coding (Constant Quality), where you can have a lot of RAW footage not so heavy in Gigabytes. Not so heavy, but heavy enough. Sturdy. DOWNSIDE: Take care of the IR cut filter: any humidity begins to give some spots that can be visible in your footage. Too much beach in a humid environment produces this, and then you have to change the IR cut filter. ... show more

    • The price, the features... a real winner
Just incredible for the price. Blackmagic keeps adding great features to this camera. The codec and workflow blow away cameras that are 3x more expensive. The highlight recovery in raw is incredible, it comes with DaVinci resolve studio which is utterly fantastic for color work (and continues to be a promising NLE option). If you were to compare this with the mirrorless options, the only two items that are weaker are the autofocus is poor and the low light, while not bad, is nothing close to the Sony cameras. And sure those cameras are good photo cameras as well. BUT, absolutely everything else, for cinematic video, favors this camera in my opinion. And the price is just ridiculously good. ... show more

This camera is great. The footage gives an awesome film effect. It shoots 6k, but it also shoots 1080p. The battery doesn’t last long at all, BUT that can be fixed with a battery pack, which gives the camera about 3 hours of recording time. Tip: Buy a battery pack and 3 extra batteries.

    • 12 volt DC line is stupid and easily/comes defective
12 volt DC line is stupid and comes defective or is easily damaged So the Camera itself is kind of beast- you have to know what you are dealing with when you buy it. BUT for camera of this quality- (and limited battery life) the 12 volt line into the wall should not be this 2 pinned piece of trash. Even if Blackmagic fixes it for me (or Amazon or the insurance company) it is still a HUGE set back if you are in the process of shooting something and one of the pins bends. Also the locking mechanism for this camera's wall charger is annoying and counter intuitive. ... show more
