I have coarse hair and I feel this really smoothed out my hair and dare I say, maybe made it softer. It tackles the little fly always on top of your head pretty good. This is a very nice brush. I would have given it 5 stars but the handle is a little short for my grip. Comes with a come and 3 small hair ties. Not meant as a detangle brush so use the wide tooth comb or a detangle brush on wet hair to help avoid breakage.

Normal brushes scratch my scalp, trapping oils only at the roots, and damaging hair follicles. Because I have mild eczema with a sensitive, this new brush helps me a lot! With this soft brush I do have to tie up half my hair to brush it in two layers, but in true this feels better for my hair. I lost my older bristle brush and bought this as a replacement. I have thinning hair so the shallower bristles on this brush, compared to the other, seems to go through my hair with less effort.     • Didn't work with my thick hair

The brush itself is nicely made, the wood is smooth, fits well in my hand and the long oval shape is more narrow than I'm used to, but still fine for the job. What isn't good for me is that the bristles a soft, too soft to get through my hair, which isn't as thick as it used to be but still substantial. The bristles sort of skim the surface without sinking into my hair and doing their job. The last few brushes I've had were natural boar bristles reinforced with nylon, which were fine, but I prefer the boar bristles alone, which used to work just fine. The bristles in this brush are much softer and a bit shorter than my previous all natural brushes had and just aren't working for me, which is a pity because I like the feel of this brush. The included comb and the three plastic hair ties are all a quite nice bonus, but I'm disappointed about the brush. *Update -the seller, Towerin US contacted me and offered a full refund on my order, which I've had too long to return. That is both kind and excellent service, many sellers don't bother. I accepted a refund on this brush, and added a star, but I'm happy with the Rainbow one. ... show more

    • Decent Quality - Plan to section your hair

Okay - this brush is pretty great (especially for the price!) but there is a learning curve when going from a typical nylon brush. I have medium length straight hair that is kind of medium thick. First, I cut off a few bristles and they passed the burn test to confirm the brush is real hair (who knows if its boars hair - but its real hair). I use this brush in combination with a WET brush for detangling first. Unless you have baby fine hair, you will need to section out your hair for this brush to reach it all. I have to do mine in 3 or 4 layers on each side. It takes more time certainly, but once you make it part of your routine you don't need to be perfect about it every time. I use it quickly in the morning on the visible parts depending on if hair is up or down and take more time with it at night. Now that I use this brush I can easily go 3-4 days between hair washes WITHOUT dry shampoo and I don't look like a grease ball. Also, I use this brush on my toddler. Its perfect for fine hair and not TOO scratchy - obv. be delicate with a baby! I would watch a few tutorials on using a boar brush before deciding to buy one. I like this one without any nylon bristles because you can get right up to the scalp with the boar bristles. I will have to buy a combo one and try it to know if the nylon is flexible enough but wanted to give this one a try, and it's certainly the right choice to share with the baby. The little bamboo comb that comes with it is perfect for cleaning it out. Also you can clean it with baby soap or mild shampoo every now and then. They say you should once a week but honestly Ive only done it once. Soaked it in a bowl with the shampoo for a few minutes then rinsed, shook it out and towel dried the handle since its wood.
